I thought you were joking at first, but you can be the one to buy a $175 and start hammering the ever loving crap out of it. Be sure to make a video of it!Sure you can. Just put it between 2 sheets of plywood and hammer the ever loving crap out of it.
John, I wasn't trying to be an arse. I'm browsing on my phone at the moment and it was hard for me to tell on my phone. I'll be looking for your video on my You Tube sub list to get a better look on my computer.

No sweat buddy, it's all gravy.Ahh sorry brother. I guess the overall tone of the thread had me being defensive.![]()
Thats what pre-need replacements are for!
My question is: How the blades got bent in the first place?
I'm no expert on knife-making, but does Spyderco hand-grind the grinds on these or are they done via some sort of CNC machine? I know they hand-grind the bevel, so that was my first thought as to how a knife could be warped in such a strange manner, but I don't know that the blade on the Caly 3.5 (3mm correct?) is thin enough to bend under the force of just grinding the bevel..
Hopefully Sal will see this and if it is a wide-spread problem, correct it.
I don't think they are hand ground, otherwise they would be customs and about 2-3 times the price. If they were CNC'd they would be classified as midtechs and again, be more expensive. The blades might be warped from heat treat (that would be my guess).
Do you not own a hammer and some wood?
To the fanbois.
This forum is here to discuss Spyderco knives. The good and bad.
If there is a production issue with this model, Spyderco would like to know about it.
Sal has said in the past, the forums are here for this purpose and more.
I think he was just trying to understand the logic behind buying 4 of the same knife.
