Just got 4 CF/ZDP Caly 3.5's, not a single one of them has a straight blade...

Disregard. I see you are gonna make a video of the problem blades. I look forward to seeing it.

thanks for the warning, I was intrigued by the new caly and now I'm gonna steer clear, at least for now. I sure am glad its production though, seems like itd be an awesome blade, I'll be waiting for the vid, ru going to post it on youtube (ive been a subscriber for awhile) or on here? Thanks

I hope Sal sees this thread...while i love my spyderco H1 and millie the climate in this forum along with some other things has been driving me away from the brand. From my experience with spyderco CS they should take care of you as they have always been good to me even when the problem was my fault :P. Id be interested to see the video and pics of the blades as well if you can find some time to post them up CTS. In the mean time ill continue to drift towards the custom market and away from the brand loyalty drama that is becoming all to frequent in this sub forum.

Here is two crappy cell phone pics. Very hard to capture, that's why I'm doing a video.

The personalities of the FANs of a brand should never steer you away. Spyderco(or any other brand for that matter) cannot control what their fans or enemies post. You should never hold that against them.

My FFG delica was warped from the factory, wasn't too bad so I just basically wrote it off. But far from straight that's for sure, so wouldn't really surprise me if his were warped. Worked and cut fine, but warped. My CF ZDP Caly 3 was straight as an arrow. Unfortunately no experience with the 3.5 to comment on.

I'm seriously embarrassed for our sub-forum based on some of the comments in this thread.

Wow.

What are you thinking/hoping will happen with the knives? I do not think you can fix them, but maybe you can? Are you thinking about only dealing with two of them or all four? I bet warped blades are a little more common than most people realize, I am kind of interested to see if all of mine are straight now...

yep that's bent.

It's bent and warped. Near the ricasso it bulges out to the non clip side, and near the tip it bends to the clip side. The blade actually makes a slight S curve. The one in the picture is the worst out of all of them for what it's worth. The others aren't as noticeable, but still pretty off. This one is noticeable the second you look at it.

Is the blade bent or is the grind just way out of whack?
It's clearly bent. Not trying to sound pompous, but if it was the grind then this thread would have never been started. I am experienced enough to decipher between uneven grinds and warpage. :)

Well, my main quest was to see if anyone else has the problem. My second was to ask what Spyderco's recourse is in this situation when dealing with sprints, but I found out this isn't a sprint! Haha

Wow.

No worries, we will weed through it and get the good stuff out of it we need. It will all end up good. We could not have this sub-forum and it be as rich and open as it is without some small downsides.
