Just got my new 561... Lock is insanely strong.

The stiff lock on the 560 has benefits. Such as, if you tirelessly flip your knife for months, and you carry it left side, an unnoticed bump or pressure might ruin an expensive pair of pants.

Simply slightly bending the lock in or out depending on whether it's too tight or too loose.

I don't think this works with the ZT561. I tried it and in a fairly short time it was back to "normal." I'm sure there are knives that it does work on, though. And there are other things you can do like placing strategic dents on the inside or carbidizing, but I'm not sure what effect those have on warranty.

That does work, but how do you retract your finger after that? The blade won't close because of the flipper, but when I remove my finger the knife just locks again due to slight pressure.

Place your thumb up on the lock-side scale in the jimped area and push down at the same time your index finger is pulling up, using the leverage. Your thumb will swing the blade in the closing direction and your finger will catch the back of the flipper (the concave or choil side) and will stop the blade from closing all the way. Still pressing on the blade with the thumb but keeping tension on your finger that's sort of halfway trapped between the flipper and the choil, remove it and rotate on the inside of your thumb so that your index finger now presses on the spine of the blade to close it all the way. It's fairly natural after awhile to close it one-handed this way.
