Just no at testing knives like this.

Yeah Buckethead is globally recognised as a major talent considered one of the best living guitarists of our time, the other guy bashes kinfe blades again rocks....
At least he actually bashes knives against rocks instead of saying he is going to, asking for advice on what knives to use, calls people geeks and chicken chit, and then is to chicken chit himself to actually do anything….

CS caught a lot of criticism when they tested other manufacturers knives, the difference is they exposed their own knives to the same systematic tests and to the market. Different to just breaking stuff.

PTSD?

The Ti-Lite 6 is my all-time favorite knife, and after several decades with folding stilettos of questionable strength and construction, I really like knowing that the Ti-Lite 6 is a VERY strong knife. And I consider the Joe X video to be the best evidence of that
Agreed...Good to know about the Ti-Lite, as well.
-I can't say I've watched it, as I've only stumbled on one of his videos that I pretty much skimmed through.

Which part?
The part that I quoted regarding you adding a paracord loop to the Lanyard hole to solve the weak spot near the tang -?
I guess I still don't understand how this is a fix 🤔
What is his job ?
I think he works on cars...🤣 Lol
B.T.B.

I just watched a couple more Joe X videos and had a thought that might allow some folks appreciate him a bit more.

Many, but certainly not all, of my knives are designed to withstand a certain amount of hard use/abuse in an emergency situation.

I don’t use my knives particularly hard (chopping/light batoning/light prying in wood, etc.), but I carry them with the understanding that in an emergency I could push them into service to, for instance, baton/hammer through some sheet metal to extract someone from a car. Additionally, I expect some of them to hold up to months/years of daily hard use should my relatively cushy life take a turn for the worse.

I watch these kinds of videos in hopes of finding knives of extreme durability, (and sometimes surprisingly good value), and I believe Noss, Joe X, and others like them are on the exact same search - they’re just putting a lot more time and effort into the endeavor.

The search isn’t for “better” knives, it’s for better “emergency” knives.

that guy needs to do some bamboo testing.......
I heard that there was a guy with a big stand of the stuff just waiting for JoeX...

JoeX wears a mask probably because he has a day job, doesn't want to scare off prospective mates, and/or maybe also wants to go to knife shows without retailers hissing at him when he walks by.

JoeX is the dark side of knife porn on YouTube. I've watched a couple of his vids and these sorts of over the top knife destruction tests have some value for those considering a Terava Skrama and want something that can take a ton of abuse or testing the breaking point of a knife that people doing unboxing vids are saying is fragile to show it isn't, but it's not much more than sketchy knife porn for most of us. Even those Dutch Bushcraft Knives guys do a bit more actual knife testing before they start getting into batoning cheap frying pans and shooting knives.
