Is that the KW exclusive, Don? How do you like it? That's one that has suddenly jumped on to my want list.
I went into this Strider buy with an open mind and was pretty neutral on it when I first had it in hand. After a couple days I'm warming to it, though I don't think it's ever going to be a favorite. I does feel great in hand and I'm happy to have the stonewashed version (instead of flamed) and the high flat-ground blade. The F&F is not great, but not awful either, and the lock-up, play, centering, and action is all fine. Striders were notorious for lock-stick back in the day, but any of that in this one is all of my own creation, and when I get it open and cleaned up it should be fine again.I've handled the auto version by PT before and was surprised how well I liked it in hand...looking at it I thought there was no way it would be nice but I was pleasantly surprised.
Funny you say that about f&f...I've been told the PT version is nicer than the original in that category by several people. They do re-sell well if you go that route...but I know you don't sell off too many of yoursI went into this Strider buy with an open mind and was pretty neutral on it when I first had it in hand. Right now the knife is striking me as something of a ZT/Hinderer hybrid (or wannabe), though a much more rough-hewn version of those. Probably gonna be a keeper, though not likely the first of more.
This knife had a lot of the features I wanted in a Strider, but also came at a well-below-original price, so I figured it would be no problem to move as any one I've seen on the market lately has gone for more than the original price.Funny you say that about f&f...I've been told the PT version is nicer than the original in that category by several people. Yes, it is. I love it. It is selling for less than $200 now at KW. Just get it. I bought another one as backup as the price is too good to ignoreIs that the KW exclusive, Don? How do you like it? That's one that has suddenly jumped on to my want list.
You're the fourth guy that said pretty much the same thing to me today. I bought one a few hours ago and now can't wait till it arrives.Yes, it is. I love it. It is selling for less than $200 now at KW. Just get it. I bought another one as backup as the price is too good to ignore
Nice Militaries. That larger , shallow groove coming from the pivot on the Fluted Ti always used to bug me on one of mine. So I sold it. I love digicamo G10. I need more of it in my life. Here are my other two Millies, sitting on my Spydie box, waiting for their new brother (sister?) to arrive.

That groove bugs me too along with the fact that as the flutes become progressively finer toward the pivot they become overshadowed by the obvious CNC mill marks. When I received the knife from DLT Trading I wrote to them asking if perhaps my knife was mis-milled. Jason checked his other stock on hand and wrote that they were all like that. I contacted Spyderco and received the same answer. The older models are not like that, but what I gleaned after a bit of back and forth with Spyderco CS, was that the current production methods are somewhat different. I was told my concerns would be forwarded to Eric, but never heard back.Nice Militaries. That larger , shallow groove coming from the pivot on the Fluted Ti always used to bug me on one of mine. That's a gorgeous collection right there. Yeah , that's the only thing about the Fluted Ti , the machining marks just bother me, I had one that I gut back in January 2015 and it was perfect. But , like a fool , I sold it.That groove bugs me too along with the fact that as the flutes become progressively finer toward the pivot they become overshadowed by the obvious CNC mill marks. Nevertheless, I do like my fluted Ti knife, but should either start carrying it and giving it some wear or sell it as there's just a hint of disappointment whenever I handle it in its LNIB condition.
On the other hand, as much as I too love my digicam and black knife, I hate the look of scuffed and scratched coated blades and keep that one nice as part of the set below. I really like the translucence and feel of Spyderco's digicam G10.

I promise to beat up my new CF/Ti model.![]()
Thanks, brother. Those two are just as smooth and free as can be, too. I'm not really cuttin' anything with 'em, but they sure are fun to play with and admire.Nice set of Grips!
