just spoke with Greg Medford on the phone...

Honestly glad to hear you had a good experience. When considering purchases I always like to know the good and the bad, so I hoped to shed some light on both sides.

Ahh you were just performing a public service, I see.

Look, there will always be someone who had a negative experience with a company, even if the majority of people are satisfied.

What did he say about the Marauder, and did you get it?

It's real easy to be good at customer service with people looking to buy and when things go well. When they go sideways, things take on a different light. Not entirely sure why you seem to be uncomfortable with me presenting evidence of the part where things go sideways, but if I was gonna drop that kind of cash on a knife I'd certainly want to know.

He, Amy, and Shawn (Sean?) Located a brand new, 3V Vulcan finish Marauder for me. I'll have it at my door in 3 weeks. I got lucky. A batch was nearly ready to be shipped to one of their dealers and I was able to snag the one 3V version from the bunch. Not sure which dealer. I was just given a phone number. Needless to say, I am beyond happy :)

I'm jealous! The Marauder has always been my favorite model, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. The weight is a major con for me, so I'll be keeping my eye out for the smaller, Midi Marauder. Congrats on your snag.

There's more than 2 kinds of feedback. There are positive experiences and negative experiences, and there are second-hand, hearsay experiences.

when someone starts a thread here with a current personal experience, show some respect and discuss it. If you have a reasonably current negative experience of your own, you might mention it. But to whine that there are other threads with negative experiences is just trolling.

Anyone looking for information on the maker or the company can search for old news on their own. You aren't performing a public service, you're just crapping in someone else's thread.

Don't do it btinder. Stick with full size. Do your belt up tighter man. I hardly notice that my fat daddy is twice the weight of my tff1.

Apologies. And apologies to Heartland_edc. Sorry for crapping up your thread, man, sometimes personal bias overrides good sense. I sincerely do hope you enjoy the new knife.

I mean, you're right. I've spent enough time talking myself out of a full size that I should just do it.

Love these threads.
They define the nonsense that fills my ignore list.
Now which Medford to pick up next?
I've had my eye on a 187 flipper...

^ I personally don't enjoy these type of thread's. :thumbdn: Seeing two opposing sides, sparring & trying to provoke one another, & basically crapping all over a very positive experience that the OP's wanted to share with us. Pick any sub-forum, & try to start a civil discussion related to Medford, Strider, CRK, Zero Tolerance (or any maker for that matter). The fan boys & the hater's, deliberate attempts at derailing certain thread's, seems to be the common theme lately. :thumbdn:

Well it looks like people clearly have divided opinions of Greg Medford. Really, my only intention was to share something good about him and his staff. I had a great experience. The Internet has a natural biased towards negativity. Just thought I'd add a little positivity to the mix :)

They do, but your positive thread, isn't the place for hater's to be posting THIER OWN, negative feelings. They should be starting their own thread's, in lieu of crapping all over yours!

Anyway, I'm thinking that Medford knives (Greg & Amy), are aware of this perception & some of the thread's that have been posted, & are now making a concerted effort, to change these opinions & perceptions. They seem to be smart business people. FWIW: I know that I'd have a hard time, pleasing some of the personalities that I witness on just this one forum. Hopefully, your experience, is a sign of positive changes that they've been making in the "Customer Service" department of their business.

Enjoy your new Medford, & please let us know in GD, how that 3V blade steel works out for you!

Mr M and Mrs M do great things and they are not without their faults
Often one hand doesnt know what the other hand is doing when in business..
Been there..
That being said.. Pick a maker and be happy with the product.
Have have owned dozens of Medfords and have been pleased with all of them
That being said..You cant please the buying population of people 100% of the time
Its the nature of the beast..If the Medfords can please 90% of their customers
fully and happily ...They have my business. IMO they produce a good product and
do many charitable things.. Bravo too them
Opinions are that..Opinions..At the very least they are working to right the wrongs
from the past customer service issues...
Good luck to all with your Medfords..And also good luck to the folks that have
less than positive experience..

Well, I just hope that Heartland_EDC understands that because his thread has stressed us all out, he now owes a full review WITH pictures of his new Marauder when it arrives!

Pick a maker and "be happy!"

^ Sorry to disappoint you, but Heartland's positive experience with Greg Medford, didn't stress me out in the least. I still want to see those pictures, though! :D

Absolutely! 3 weeks before it reaches the retailer, then it'll come to me. Spoke with Sean again today. The blade is vulcan and the handles are some sort of flame vulcan pattern. Can't wait to see it!

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has to be why Esav Benyamin is a MidniteSuperMod. WISDOM! Perfectly stated.
