just spoke with Greg Medford on the phone...

A lot of people say Spyderco looks unergonomic, but we tell them they have to look with their hand, not their eye. :)

As a user I would think the finger groves would give hot spots .

I was told when designing knives that the hand doesn't like straight lines :)

My opinion not anyone else's

This is a little off topic but I was, in a way, flattered when I heard this. Greg uploaded his usual video (the second most recent one with knives going to "james marsh", who is apparently one of his dealers) and at 11:00 exactly, he says "just yesterday I had a guy call in and ask if so and so was a reputable dealer, and my advice is, check the site for our actual dealers etc etc". That "guy" was me. Lol. It was a fun moment for me to watch greg refer to me as "this guy called in" haha!

It seems like the stars aligned for you Heartland!!! I have a feeling this knife is going to be exactly what you're hoping for!!
And I am another stressed out member and demand lotsa pics and a glowing review!!! If you can wipe the silly grin off your face when she arrives!!! I'm betting you won't be able to!!
Good luck.......next couple of weeks are going to fly by......NOT!!!

Nothing wrong with your opinion as long as you realize it's yours and not some kind of universal fact....

Greg is one of those guys that people are either going to love or hate, and there won't be much in the middle.
His knives are the same.

I have a feeling he's just fine with that.

^ Spot on, Esav! What I sometimes find amusing, are the people who bash on a certain knife/maker, & yet they've never actually held one, let alone seen one, in person.

Too bad, the same can't be said, regarding his (Medford's) detractor's!

Oh man you hit the nail on the head... I feel like I'm watching a sundial. It'll all be worth it. I really am enjoying the mystery as far as how the finish will look. I find myself daydreaming about it at work a lot haha

I love it!! These things always make us feel like 12 year olds around Christmas time!!!
Worth every penny!!

Just so you know I've used a spyderco so much it went from serrated to plain in about 10 years :) I'm a user not a collector so I'm biased

^ That's very apparent!

v You might want to re-read what BF's moderator (Esav) posted earlier:

There's more than 2 kinds of feedback. There are positive experiences and negative experiences, and there are second-hand, hearsay experiences.

When someone starts a thread here with a current personal experience, show some respect and discuss it. If you have a reasonably current negative experience of your own, you might mention it. But to whine that there are other threads with negative experiences is just trolling.

Anyone looking for information on the maker or the company can search for old news on their own. You aren't performing a public service, you're just crapping in someone else's thread.

This discussion is about Medford Knives, & the stellar customer service, that the OP received from them.
