It's kind of like being at the drinking fountain in kindergarten and we're trying to hog it all.Haven't you had enough already? I think you guys are good on rain...
Wow. I could build all sorts of crazy stuff if I had all that. Some time in the future.I wish I could afford to have my own WJ at home.
I'm a member of TechShop, a membership-based workshop. Members have access to all kinds of tools not normally available in a typical home workshop.
In addition to typical things like table saws, wood and metal drill presses and chop saws, hand tools, etc, there's a wood lathe, 2 metal lathes, 2 metal mills, 2 CNC ShopBots (wood/acrylic/MDF), a CNC Tormac (metal), a FlowJet WJ, MIG/TIG and arc welding, wood and metal band saws, sheet metal bending/shaping tools, sand blasting equipment, powder coating oven, planers, joiners, spindle/disc/belt sanders for wood, laser cutters and more.
The one thing they don't have that we're hoping to eventually get is a 2x72 belt grinder.
The only TS in Texas is in Round Rock. If you ever get over to Austin, you should drop by for a tour.

I just built 2 more replacement windows for my 100+ y.o. farm house. Cost my time and about $30 in supplies for each window (building them out of cedar so they'll last). As the windows are "1904 Standard" they obviously don't meet 2015 manufacturing standard sizes. Custom windows to fit the holes in my wall would have cost me about $4-500 apiece - paying for my membership one window at a time.![]()
It stopped raining long enough I was able to mow the lawn tonight!
Damn, send it up to the panhandle. Last time I was there lake Meredith was 50' low and Alabates was closed![]()
Today is my hump day![]()
Finally got new computer today... Internet Exploder :barf: has locked up on me 5 times while trying to download a different browser. Maybe I'll get it done before my warranty runs out.![]()
I think that's the only thing anyone uses IE for.
Just looked up Meredith. If I'm reading this right, http://www.waterdatafortexas.org/reservoirs/individual/meredith , it's down by almost 75 ft. But, it filled up .5% in one day, and .6% the day prior! But it's still a dismal 8.7% full.
