One more day and I got the weekend off. I'm hoping a box comes in the mail tomorrow or Saturday AM so I can pound the crap out of a new blade on some deadwood Saturday PM :D

Sunday is a bagpiping gig....and it's going to be hot here :P

Well, at least it's not all continuous. A half day Friday. 3/4 a day Saturday. All day Sunday. There will be some down time.

Jealous! I want to win the lotto and retire ;) without.....im looking at another 25-33 of work depending on if my wife goes baby crazy again.

Well, sitting here "watching" the CWS. Last I remember, Miami was up 1 - 0. Obviously, I dozed off, as I woke up when one of the dogs barked and the Miami coach is coming out to change pitchers and Florida is up 9 - 2. I guess I pulled too many weeds and cut too many limbs today. :D

Ooops - make that 12 - 2

No work can be done outside today because of the rain.... looks like I'm going to sit here drinking rum until it stops.

it's a real feel of 96*F and the humidity feels like someone is sitting on my chest. suuuuuucks.....

Well, we survived Tropical Storm Bill here. One of the most disappointing tropical storms I've encountered. Forecast models showed some close by areas getting up to 10" and most areas getting 3+" of rain. I don't think all that we got added up to even an inch. But I'm not complaining too much. After the floods of Memorial Day weekend, a little bit of rain is just about the right amount. Plus it gave us two nice overcast days where the temps didn't even hit 80 - in June! Amazing!

This one was kinda spotty. Totals were driven by where the heavy rain cells tracked. I got about 3.25" total. One cousin 1/4 mile away to the SW across the pasture got over 4.5. Another cousin 1/4 mile west of him got nearly 6". A small town 3 miles to the north of me got over 5"+ and had flooding in downtown businesses and home near downtown. I heard the Waco area got 9"+.

Wow, sorry it took so long to catch this...
Yes sir, that's it. Back in the 80's it was a really fun spot to grow up. We lived about 20min on back roads(through a carbon plant heh) from there. Now its about gone. Even the town we lived in, Electric City, is listed as a ghost town. Crazy stuff man. Had a lot if fun around there as a kid and I really miss the canyons. I heard they're finding all sorts of stuff like a plane and 2 guys that went missing decades ago.
Wow! You lived in Electric City? Very cool! I've been there many times. I still remember the lights strung all along the road. I have lots of family in Borger, Stinett, Pampa, and I used to live in Amarillo.
I remember when ol Meredith was FULL! My parents saw it being built. They said the backhoes and bulldozers looked like little toys down in the bottom of it. They told me that they sent divers down near the dam to search for something and they came up white as a sheet. They said there were catfish down there big enough to eat a man whole.
It's so sad. It just looks like a damn pond now.

I barely got any rain where I live. Memorial Day was much worse. I was "flooded in" at work for about 6 hours.

The May rains were record setting. I saw some reports that said, based on reported rainfall and radar estimates, Texas receive over 37.3 TRILLION gallons of rain in May, enough to cover the entire state with 8 inches of water. I had 19.5" of rain, 26/31 days had measurable rainfall. A lot of our corn "drowned". In some places it is only 1 to 2 feet high, tasseling and making puny ears - about as big around as a quarter.

Wow, yeah! Small world! I went to school at Phillips right there at the plant lol and Stinnett when Phillips closed. Fun place to grow up. We used to roam those hills and canyons from dusk to dawn. So many old abandoned houses and buildings. Awesome place to explore. Oh yeah, I spent a year in 3rd grade in Borger. I saw The Karate Kid at the old theater there on Main hah.

Well this sure has stalled out. Looks like the right time for my entrance.

Hey guys. Mauser here. Looks like I all ready know most of you.

Ive been lurking over here (Kabar Forums) a little trying to figure out how the heck to get some posts of value for a Krew number. I own a lot of Kabar made knives but not a single regular Kabar. I have almost every current production Becker knife there is but it just seems weird to post about them over here in regular KaBar land.

I have a TDI knife I got in a trade for a Smith and Wesson knife. Not really that special but maybe I will start with a pic of that since I feel like I traded a cat turd for a shiny marble on that deal. :D

See you around

You sure did! See ya around man.

Got the stew going. Beef, spices and onions simmering, taters and carrots cut up, plus other veggies are ready to be added in a bit. Many will say that dishes like stew and chili are winter-time dishes. Not me - I'll cook'em year-round.

I know that feeling! Good to see you around here Maus! How's that hand healing up? I picked up a USMC Ka-Bar down at Blade, and I also got some handles for my 1117 done up. So I now have a regular carry Ka-Bar and a "I'm gonna 'F' you up boy!" Ka-Bar! :D
