 Thanks! I'll try it out around dinner time!

Tried my hand at lanyard making today, will post up a picture later.

More of a fob. A lanyard would have to attach to something I guess.

After having it on for a little while I realised how much it annoys me on the knife and took it off and put it on my keys.

Happy to report the #5102 has bested my previous EDC fixed blade (ZT 0121)

Alright! Although I'm not totally sold on the Snoddy line being that there's others I prefer, I'm glad that ZT's in the drawer and a Ka-Bars in your pocket!
Nothing against the Snoddy, just don't really grab me. Maybe if I could handle one and it grabbed me like it did you, I'd sing a different tune!

Different tools for a different job I guess ;). The #5102 makes a much better edc. Its not in the drawer (the 0121), its in my edc bag with my bk2, bk15, and Parangatang :D just incase i need to swap out on the day. The more i use it, the more I like the #5102. Assisted me with my lunch today :D

How's the handle feel? it looks a little less contoured than many of the other Ka-bar lines out there.

Simple and effective blade shape, though, I like it.

My first impression of the handle was that it feels like plastic. The texture on the BK&T handles spoiled me ;) it makes the 5102 feel a little different in the beginning. After using it for the past 4 days the new is now gone from it (i guess) because it now feels like every other zytel handled knife I own. The grip is comfortable (in my hand). It is also comfortable in any of the fencing grips I have been taught. I've gotten the scales wet while chopping fruit and veggies and it is not slippery as some other reviews have made it out to be, but some micarta scales would be an upgrade. I wear a medium - large sized glove and there is still an inch of usable handle past my hand in a normal grip.

It makes a really nice EDC knife, I don't see this one getting replaced any time soon.

It would also make a great secondary for the woods, for food prep and smaller tasks. While it may be capable of taking the abuse of being your main camp knife, the Becker handle is better suited for that.

re-did the edge on the 5102 the other day. Man that s35vn is ware resistant on bench stones. Dropped it to 34 degrees inclusive, its a laser now. Luke Skywalker would trade me his lightsaber for it. Next weird or freaky contest or request for body shaving... I may have to use this knife.

Yeah, stones work well for carbon steels, but those harder alloys are a force to be reckoned with.

Ooh boy, gonna be going camping this weekend, backpacking overnighter near the Carbon river by Mt. Rainier. My Parangatang should get its first taste of wood. :D

sitting here at half moon ridge - digesting 2 helpings of 4-way Cincinnati chili.

I updated my sig, think I might try a hand at the photoshop thing, even though I'm not very good at it

25% of the Dog Poop Bingo slots have been claimed in less than 24 hours. This may go faster that I thought it would. :D
