i am getting my first kabar in the mail wensday cant wait to see if they are as good as every one says they are. I usually can only save up for fixed blades from gander mountain but birthday money came in and now hopefully i can get a knife that will actually last. Also dont try to use a knife for an arrow head.

Anyone here have a ZK death dagger and new generation Warthog and can tell me how they perform? I want more knives to customize and these guys have caught my eye (I dont JUST customize beckers you know haha).

I don't have the ZK, but I have a new Warthog. I like it. It's not really a bushcraft knife, and it's not really a fighting or hunting knife, but it's a tough, heavy chopper for the short length of blade and it can handle any sort of work you throw at it. Makes a good yard knife or truck knife to just beat on with things you wouldn't want to use prettier blades for. It's a cleaver with a point and a very comfortable handle. BRL has one, too, and he's written a lot about it. Search for "Warthog" in this forum and you should find his threads easily.

Thanks Hawk.

Hey ya'll,

I'm new to the forum but not so new to Ka-Bar and Becker! I've had the TDI Law Enforcement Knife and the Combat Kukri for a couple of years and just recently bought a BK2 and a FIN Drop Blade! Love the lines!

Take some photos and post them. Toooj is awesome about helping people out.

I love my Kabar 1217.

That is all.

just got a ka-bar baconmaker.... anyone know if i can take off the handle to make it look like the archeron

You mean take of the plastic scales and grind it so it resembles the archeron? Yeah sure, I've done it a million times. I used a bench grinder, you cant just cut up .25" steel (I think thats the thickness) with a little wheel like that.

I was wondering if anyone has one of their kuks either combat or the machete and their opinion on it? Im very interested in them.

Got the kuk-machete. Good big piece of steel. Bit too heavy for chopping through light brush/grass but a rock-solid wood processor and zombie-whacker. "Inspires confidence when held" is how I like to describe it. :D The Toooj handle series are all comfortable for long, heavy use and they're all tough and made to work. The only potential drawbacks are the sheaths, which work well enough, but I personally don't like the multi-retention-strap-and-open-side designs for some of the bigger blades.

Thanks, that is exactly what it want if for. I'm probably gonna get a mashed cat sheath for it if I get it.

So who has one of the new Zomstro cleaver chopper blades? I haven't had the chance to hold one or see one in person. It looks like it would be a fun tool to have around camp.

i have a usmc fighter thats almost unrecognizeable. i may buy a new shiny one since any knife fan needs one, and turn my own inst a bushcraft knife. that way its still useable as its own thing, not just sitting there since i have a newer or. or a d2 extreme... i live my table sander and spindle sander, should be a good two hour project. um, im not sure if ka bars should bee ffg because of the blood groove, and it looks nice so i may just scandi grind the sabre grind since the edge on mine is quite thick. it shaves fine but its not delicate.

this subforum has been a little slow lately dont ya think?

i wish there was some more ka-bar awesomeness to go around donnt you? :D

Vik was gracious enough to send me one as a wedding gift. It's a great tool, but it needed some customization. Well, not "needed", but I'm doing it anyway. I started a thread on it here in Ka-Bar. I won't post all the progress pix till it's finished, but she'll be beautiful.
