Kabar is getting into the zombie killing business

My nephew gave me the machete looking one for Xmas (along with a Zombie handbook) I love the knife and the book is amusing reading. I didn't take it too serious, it's a joke.
I was impressed at how sharp the blade was. Definately will find a use for it.

Where did your nephew get a ZK knife already??? I thought they weren't being released until April!

It is just a knife. Would you kick a hot girl out of bed because of her name? You either like the design or you don't, the name shouldn't make a difference. I'm not a big fixed blade guy but that first one looks like it could be useful in the woods.

Even if her name was Steve?:p

there was a couple I'd buy, ZK stuff aside you can see basic lever principles in the design, the first one with the big recurve would be great for various tasks.

I'm still wondering where your nephew got one of these already. I want one, dammit!;)

I really cant wait for the zk series...seems like its gonna be a reasonably priced, hopefully well built, series of zombie killers/ large tactical knives

I find the zombie theme entertaining. I don't own any 'zombie killing gear' or even follow the threads, but I like the fact that people still have a sense of humour.

Now on to the knives, I only liked the first fixed blade. The rest didn't really do anything for me.

Perhaps the marketing twist isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I kinda dig the Zombie Killer Kharon Tanto. That bright green might just add a little zip to my folder collection...

As for the rest of the ZK collection... meh.

Not sure why people would have a problem with 'zombie killer ' as making it hard to take the hobby seriously when we clamor over knives called 'junkyard dog ', 'infidel ', and 'son of dogfather'. People who don't prematurely judge people who are fascinated by knives will do so regardless of the name on the blade.
I think what I find disgusting about it is the sadistic/perverted/pathological/repugnant subtext of the whole zombie phenomenon: mutilating, dismembering and chopping up humans is fun! Oh, its ok, they're not really humans, they're 'zombies.' Yeah, right buddy, you ain't foolin anybody. Hey zombie fans, if it were socially acceptable, you would get a real kick out of slicing open little girls, wouldn't you?

And this is who Kabar is catering to? Although, given Kabar's history, I shouldn't be surprised...

Dude, you really need to chill.
You're looking at this waaaaaaaay too seriously.
Comic books aren't real.
Rambo isn't real.
Commando the movie would never work out in real life.:)
Zombies aren't real either.

You don't find them entertaining; fine, that's cool.

But don't project so much unwarranted, unsubstantiated negativity. It's kinda a downer.:(

Sooooooo you're saying that I should only buy a spyderco paramilitary if I'm planning on starting an anti government militia? C'mon dude, you argument is ridiculous.

Kabar's history? You mean helping to equip generations of American soldiers?

What about the 19th century vampire killing kits? some of the best craftsmen in Europe were cashing in on those! I dont see why you're pressing that sort of negativity when as mentioned they have been supplying knives to troops longer then you have been alive.

I don't like ''raised'' blades, like spyderco with their humps, it's just weird.
I also doubt the functionality of those mid handle obtuse-curve choil point things.

Hahahahaha I've only been here a few months and some of these posts are gold. This one is almost as good as the one the guy made about his rottweiler carrying his Cold Steel Trail Master and looking for trouble.

I got the chance to handle this series of knives at SHOT, and most seem very usable blades. If the green is not your thing, the fixed blades all come with black scales in the box.
