Kabar is getting into the zombie killing business

...mutilating, dismembering and chopping up humans is fun!

This sounds more like the evening news to me.

I think the fact that your mind went to the place it did as far as the FICTIONAL 'zombie' entertainment genre goes says more about you than it does about anyone else. ("...slicing open little girls...". Really???)

Mellow out.

I think what I find disgusting about it is the sadistic/perverted/pathological/repugnant subtext of the whole zombie phenomenon: mutilating, dismembering and chopping up humans is fun! Oh, its ok, they're not really humans, they're 'zombies.' Yeah, right buddy, you ain't foolin anybody. Hey zombie fans, if it were socially acceptable, you would get a real kick out of slicing open little girls, wouldn't you?

And this is who Kabar is catering to? Although, given Kabar's history, I shouldn't be surprised...

What the heck? I hate those crappy looking knives but dude! Seriously, simmer down a bit.

Man, take another Xanax.

I like the first knife, though it looks very familiar for some reason.

I like the idea of the neon colors for an outdoors knife. I know some people prefer neon orange, but I've found that even that can blend in with the surroundings sometimes.

All in all, some of those designs look pretty functional. The "Death Dagger" I could do without. But the chopper, tanto, and "war sword" could all easily be pressed into service.

And the price point is PFG.

But, if the zombies do come, I'd go with the 14" "Grass Machete"

I agree with others who think this whole zombie killing trend is getting out of hand. It's just an excuse to go places that society, for the moment, would deem unacceptable without some type of facade. The violence of computer gaming slowly finding it's way out into the world. Kabar rolled the dice in their commonplace pursuit of the dollar and appears to have been met by a mostly accepting audience. It may be harmless fun, at least for the moment, but as trends go this seems like one that society could have easily done without.

I love that one too. I just wish they'd taken it to 56-57RC instead of 52-54. I've got the Cutlass Machete and it's 52-54 RC and it's not bad at all. I just like a knife to be a bit harder. I can tell a tremendous difference between the Cutlass and my Potbelly that's 56-58RC.

I don't know I'm seriously considering the Pestilence chopper as a short machete to keep in my bag. (I was thinking about bringing out my old folding machete, until I saw this.)

That and I'm totally digging the lime green and black. I could care less about the zombie thing though. And that's coming from a huge horror guy too.

For those troubled by the zombie killing fad, remember, 'cowboys and Indians ' used to be completely socially acceptable.

At least the zombie phase is better than the whole vampire thing. We even now have vampires who sparkle in sunlight....

....the entertainment industry is trying to turn everyone into 14 year old girls. Geezus!

LOL ironic you think zombie fans are sadistic, you sound like you have some problems yourself. and social too. definitely.

im sure your one of those people that think video games make kids wanna murder people and automatic guns should be banned cuz they mysteriously kill people all my themselves. it never gets old watching narrow minded people talk...its always worth a laugh.

I got one of the Ka-bar ZK Kharon folders the other day for my brother he loves it so far mainly because of the lime green handles all in all a very cool knife regardless of the name.

Your entirely missing what zombies represent. I assure you its no cover for killing humans or whatever but instead a classic struggle between good and evil. The common goal is always to preserve how far we have come as a society, and to insure we retain our humanity rather then degrading to chaos and anarchy. Personalty I worry what would happen if this trend (or one like it) never continued. If we lose sense of what is right and wrong or good and evil who knows where we could end up. I understand some people get uncomfortable with new things, but open your mind and look at the foundation of the story. Humanity > Evil.

The 'zombie killing trend' is just a fun way to portray this story, buy some cool toys and enjoy yourself. As long as the ka-bar knives are functional and reasonably priced, I'm happy.

You can't kill Zombies with black handled knives!

I know it sucks. That's why Ka-Bar's new zombie blades have mint green handles man! :D
