KAI-Kershaw Link M390- best knife ever

That knockout is the right kind of plain and slightly ugly; It looks like it belongs in a toolbox - like it doesn't seem right without a bunch of scratches in the handle finish.

I haven’t tried the knockout yet, but it does look like the workhorse of the Kershaw lineup. I would try one even in 14c28; never been crazy about kershaw’s 420HC though,(I still have 1 or 2 old blurs in 420) so I didn’t get the link or dividend until they had m390.

I like the blue for the leek with aluminum handles . You should keep all your exclusive kershaw the same color handles . This way you gain in advertising . Like the Blue PM2 , PM3 , and the Domino . Also the Jade by BHQ.
This one agrees with me, so we must be correct. @whitty make with the leeks!

I bought both the Link and Dividend in M390 when they came out. I gave the Link to my buddy as a gift. I got in on this Knockout as well:D Great job guys:thumbsup:

ON side note... I'm curious if KAI would let you guys do an M390 CF handled Knockout. THAT would be A-MAZING!

No frame lock. It's silly on the Leek. Strength isn't really one of it's selling points.

It's not the strength of the frame lock on the Leek that I prefer, it's the thinness of the handle. I love my Leek Carbon Fiber (liner lock), but it's considerably thicker than my Leek Composite (frame lock). Thinness is also the reason I prefer the FRN Chaparral to any other Spyderco I've held... I do have baby hands though, so maybe I'm an outlier. I also prefer the heft and balance the steel handled frame lock gives over the liner lock models.

That being said, I too would purchase an M390 Leek regardless of if it was a liner lock or frame lock.

The CF version is also thicker than the aluminum liner lock. It would be thinner regardless.

Got my M390 Knockout yesterday and it's fantastic. Very curious to know if Kershaw would do a run of them without the thumb studs.

Yes I know this thread is a year old, sorry.
What's the verdict on on the heat treat? Does Kershaw do it right?
No point in m390 with a sub par HT.
