Karambits?

:( from serious to shambles. I don't understand how this thread got so off track. I understand that there's a concern to preserve the integrity of knives and those that carry them but I thought I could just ask for advice on some blades I have an interest in without the cynical background check to make sure I know what I'm doing.

im popping some popcorn...if this thread doesnt get dumped, it could be entertaining:D

Enjoying this thread immensely.

As for the knife part...... maybe another emerson? Why change what works........

I say do whatever you want and if you absolutely want a karambit then do what you feel is necessary. Just pick up a cheap fox or emerson

Um, so how is waving a 2.6" knife blade around in the dark serve as a deterrent from street criminals? Did anyone actually see your knife?

Wouldn't you rather be waving a 24" machete blade if you think brandishing is a good idea?

As a retired cop I hold the utmost respect. But what I don't understand is why I'm under the microscope. The first few responses were on topic, I asked if there were any other karambits that would be able to match my Emerson. I gave a little miniscule detail pertaining to use and it blew up when a question was asked of it's use and my answer was, I'll admit, nonchalant. I won't deny that, I have used it in that manner, and I put it incredibly lightly because I didn't think that I had to elaborate and input every detail in that manner. If I wanted to argue or put into detail semantics of blades and uses, I would have made that the purpose of this thread. It is not the purpose of this thread so I answered the question as I saw fit.
TLDR - The purpose of this thread was to find information regarding Karambit style blades with equal or better quality to an Emerson.

TL;DR back at you (and from a 60-year-old guy at that): I like the smaller Emerson karambit better. Faster, lighter, and you're less likely to hurt yourself with it.

Don't know if it's been mentioned (not sorting through the trolling), but check out 5.11. They make some nice karambits.

I sent my Emerson Super Karambit out to get pimped and, well, it's been 2 weeks but it's felt like 2 years! I seem to get into a scuffle every now and then, the nature of my neighborhood sadly. I need another karambit

You're trying too hard.

Learn now that you're not cool.

Lesson learned. Next time I won't state why it might come in handy. Definitely won't say I miss a knife and that I'm looking to replace it while it's absent either.
Everyone's a critic.

Look, you're young, dumb and full of seeds. I got it. I was there once too. You're also not going to hear a thing I say. Got it. But the man who walks away from a fight, or better yet, sees it coming and avoids it in the first place, is almost always the better man. You might be the fastest gun in town, but there's always somebody who's faster.
