KBAC-27D options?

I just ordered a KBAC-27D today and didn't realize there where options. I thought the controller had a built in forward / reverse stop switch but now that appears to be an option as well as the On/Off AC Line Switch. Which options do I need? Also picked up a brand new Baldor 2hp motor today for $70. Without any of the options what do you just power it on from the bottom right power button then just have forward only adjustable by the speed knob?

Thanks Mac

They come with a run/stop and that's it.

I add power switches to all of mine, and often a reverse switch too.

There are no buttons.

Thanks Brian much appreciated. Is the reverse switch something special or just an off the shelf part? I read the on/off switch is just a single or double pole standard toggle switch.

Thanks Mac

More important than the specific switches, are the special rubber boots that seal them to maintain the NEMA 4X rating. If you are paying the extra money for a top quality speed controller, it is worth protecting. I spent the money on factory power and reversing switches and I think it was well spent. -Doug

Nothing special about those boots.
They are standard switch boots.

None of the switches are anything special either.
SPDT for the Forward / Reverse
I use DPST for the On/Off

I only paid for the factory switches once.
Discovered they were just everyday toggle switches at about 3X the price, so I buy my own now.

$12 or so on eBay gets switches and boots

Brian any idea on the amperage ratings on the switches? I'm going to be running a 2hp Baldor motor. I just checked out your grinding room video and must say you did an awesome job on your grinder! I'm planning on building something similar. Did you use 1/2 6061 aluminum?

Thanks Mac

Well my unit arrived today and the start / stop switch feels horrid. It taked 10lbs of pressure to move it up and when it's in off postion if you barely touch it, it moves to the center. I guess I need to put a call in :(

Don't break it!!!!

It returns to center...... Automatically......

So the switch is supposed to be in the middle normally them momentary up and down?

Mine gets stuck everywhere and feel horrible.

Mac
No man, like I posted simultaneously with you, it's momentary run only.
It should not feel bad either.

It latches in the stop position, unless they changed something.

Take the boot off and work it a few times.

This one looks like it works as it supposed to. I need to call them tomorrow.

There's quite a lot going on in the video starting with a sideways video and doing a barrel roll to upside down, moving/noisy packing material, shaky videoing, maybe the pone rings at the end?

but it looks ok to me.

If you snap down, to off it stays there
If you press up to "run" against fairely strong spring pressure - it's momentary and should spring back to middle.

On the website, Rob mentions that it's his greatest customer service issue, not bad switches, just educating customers on how to use it.

No phone rang and the purpose of the moving box / packing materials was to show how hard it is to move up and how it barely stays down:) Who's Rob??

Rob = Rob Frink owner of the Beaumont - KMG company

There is a quick 2 ring buzz at 21 seconds - sounds like some sort of phone ring.

No man, that aint normal.

You got a funky switch.

Thanks exactly what I thought. I have installed many switches in my day and never felt one like this. As soon as I saw that other video I posted I knew something was up.....actually as soon as I tried switching it the first time I said to myself "Now that aint right"

I hate out of box quality issues. Who ever installed that switch at the factory should of know something was up with it.
