KBAC-27D options?

I went with the Baldor VM3609 as it was $70 brand new surplus locally. It has a 7/8 shaft which is why I need to make my own pulley.

Would the KBAC-27D work ok with a 2HP motor with only 115volt input? I know it's fine with 230volts but not sure about the 115?
I just want the flexibility of a 2 HP motor in case I decide to use 230 in the future... but don't want to burn anything up in the meantime.

Thanks

It will run 2hp on 240v input and it will debate the output of the 2hp motor to 1.5 hp on 110v. So you can do what you want with the proper incoming voltage.

Once you go over the 60 hz mark, torque decreases linearly and at 120 hz, torque is 50%. So if you run the motor at 2x you will have half the torque you did. You will have to decide when you want full torque. This is a downside to a direct drive grinder in my opinion- having to make this kind of decision. Even wilmont decided to offer an indirect drive setup for their TAG.

I have a kmg and used a 17xx 3hp motor and appropriate pullies to get 5300 sfpm using a 6" drive wheel without using the 2x setting.

You also lose torque on a pulley system!
Any time you increase the driven wheels diameter, torque decreases.

The beauty is, with both systems, that it doesn't matter.

You are using belt speed at high SFPM to remove material, and require little torque.
