Maybe get a new Garden knife? Though it would still be stainless.
This is the only Opinel I've pocketted to any extent, but it's a 7 rather than an 8.

I was thinking I might etch a Case that I've had for a while but which came from a Forum member. I'm glad I reminded myself of the quality of my fine hand work before I did any real damage.

I've never seen the garden knife in any other size than 08. 6 or 7 would be nice.

I assume any customization I'd do would be on the handle, not the blade.

Don't count on that meako . I haven't checked today but two days ago there was an idiot on the Bay selling one (2024 BF knife) for $599.00 (U.S.). Don't know if he /she was successful.

Opinel ?? ... I prefer a No.7 (pictured) although most people don't I guess.
Regardless of size and as appropriate to the model, I have to modify top of the handle butt to get rid of a palm poking hotspot.

Love that horn. Mine is Bubinga wood.
15yrs ago, it fell from my pocket while napping at Fort Sofa.
My pup returned it to me. Smart pup !!! He KNEW to grab it by the handle
Sanded down the rough spots on this now priceless (to me) piece.

For me it was cost. I don't mind paying $120 to $150 for a GEC, but $250 was (and still is) too rich for my taste, so that's why I passed but not sure about other's motives.

I think this is the answer. But also that the 2023 and 2024 forum knives were not designed by the forum members which, I guess, would have made them more desirable.

I believe it has come to an end. With 200+ knives left unsold from last year, nobody is going to take the risk.
