With four months remaining in 2025, that's going to be a very fine needle to thread. I personally do not think it's happening, unless you do as others here have done and order something else and have it engraved. I do not think there will be a GEC made Forum knife in 2025.
I think that I better start being a post ho just in case.

In the movie Qiest For Fire...the scene where Everett McGill is blowing on the ember to ignite the spark....but it dwindles and dies.....illustrates the 2025 situation.
Metallic voice :
Engage meako brain cell overdrive! Arrooga Arroooga (sound).
Unless Rae Dawn Chong steps in to "ignite the spark" ....it does seem like the quest is doomed. I'm going down with the MV Porchantic before my porch antics get me thrown overboard.😆

It isn't very good advertising for GEC, that there is a GEC even Blade Forumites won't buy even at pre-flip prices, but If we won't buy the 2024s, why don't we sell them on the bay?

I have to wonder.

And why did we buy so many more than we had pre-orders for? A high minimum on GEC's side and too much faith on our side?

I realize it's tiresome of me to speculate, but if we don't like us speculating, we could tell us what's going on.

Like Buckingham Palace.
"The princess is fine, none of your business why she's cancelled all her public appearances. Please respect her privacy."
"OK, the princess is gravely ill, but it's nothing serious. Pleases respect her privacy."
"OK, the princess has cancer, but we won't tell you what kind of cancer. Please respect her privacy."

Sorry, but she's a public person and her issues are to some extent public issues.

Or, we could say, "Shut up", and lock this thread.

I seem to remember another scene with her in that same movie that suits the situation at least as well.

I think it looks like a great knife. One problem is that "pre-flip price" is $100 higher than a year ago.

Where's the fun in that?

Even if there's no Forum Knife, we can still get part of the forum knife experience of bickering about it for months. ;)

Wishful thinking. Since there are still 2024 forum knives unsold, the chance of a 2025 knife is about equal to chance the moon will fall out of the sky.
Seeing how many are left, and current sales pace, they likely won't be sold out for all of 2026 either.

And what if all those unsold 2024 forum knives still sit there by the end of 2026... 🤯

I'm not Spark, so I can't say for certain, but if I *were* the HPIC, 2024 would be the last Bladeforums forum knife. Huge headache for him, tens of thousands of dollars tied up in inventory for months, marking them down just to get rid of them, seeing people bitching about the price when he may not even be covering his overhead...the whole thing is just not worth messing with.

To be honest, I think his first mistake was to take away the members say in the general design of the BF knife/knives. I know it caused some drama in 2021 but at least the knives that were made with the involvement from the community were - and still is - highly desirable. This is nor me bitching or anything like that but just my two cents.

Yes and might I say you were lucky to snag one of these. They were literally being given away by the souvenir shop on board the MV Porchantic...right up until the minute it slid beneath the waves of The Porchific Ocean.....stories are told of a sea chest lying an unfathomable number of fathoms below the surface...Full of unsold Porch knives...still wrapped in their souvenir waxed wrapping paper....

Unfathomable fathoms indeed. Thesis and antithesis. Light and dark. Good and evil. Sharp and dull. All of these things and none of them. All succumb to the deep and dark depths of despair. Particularly carbon steels.

I agree. Nobody asked me but I would've wagered the cost of one of these knives that they would be less appealing. An oversized stockman isn't a great pattern for the masses. No company moves them with frequency and this was obviously no different. Add in premium materials and the cost explodes as well. A regular sized stockman would have sold out on the drop. As would many other patterns. I'm perplexed that folks thought otherwise, including the folks at GEC. If a new forum knife appears and it isn't an oversized stockman then the floodgates will be opened
