Nice Coke bottle, Ken!
At the computer at the right time Ford! Congrats!!

How did this one slip by me? Great knife, congrats Ford, don't mind Mickie, he does not mean anything by being mean. ;)

Dave,

Good question, if you look at the Ulster swell center hunter(bottom knife in the page from Blade's guide to knives and their values) that I loosely based this knife on , you will notice the blade etch "Montana Teazer" .

Ken

I'll be darned, I've got a Montana Teazer, never knew it had a name:eek::cool:

Ken, you did a FANTASTIC job on that one! You did a better job cutting a straight saber line than the folks at Ulster did:thumbup::thumbup:

Ken, your knives are always a pleasure to see and always hard to resist.
i too have an Ulster Knife Co. large 'Coke Bottle' like Eric's above. this superb knife you have posted would have made an interesting pair.

Eric,

Great knife! Thanks for posting a pic of your Ulster. Is there any remaining etch?

Ken

Ken,

There's a very faint etch, or portions of an etch, most visible where the darker patina lays. So faint that I can't make out any of the letters, although the font does appear to be quite thick. The one in the catalog picture appears to have the Ellenville stamp, which was a quite early stamp, and was closely followed by the "Ulster Knife Co. NY" stamp that appears on the one above. I wonder if the etch remained the same over the years.

Well folks, it arrived today, and it is truly beauty and the beast. This fine ebony fiddleback hunter will hereinafter be known as my "Arkansas Teaser" and will not be leaving the Ozarks any time soon. The brown and black hues of the ebony and the superb grinds and swedgework are just a pleasure to behold. The fit and finish is flawless, and the action is as smooth as a broken-in Browning Sweet 16.

It's sharper than omagosh!

Thanks again Ken for sharing your craftsmanship here in the forums. I sure got lucky this time.

Woohooooo!! I'll teach this horse to lead. ;)
