Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

Oh, man...I wondered where that one was headed, JB. Saw that on FB and was an instant fan. Congratulations!! Awesome acquisition.

Another of Ken's EDC's, this one in the nicest Ebony I've ever seen, coined liners, worked spring. The finest slipjoint I've owned.

That looks like the perfect EDC, Jerry. Ken makes such wonderful knives.

Love that ebony! Got to see a clip point version of that knife at a show a while ago and it was just the best feeling ebony I've ever seen, this looks like the same stuff. Love how the coined edge and worked spring dresses it up to. Super classy!

Great knife Jerry. Really like the coined liners all around and no question about the ebony. I am a longtime fan of this material and this is the best I have ever handled!

That's the one! Brad had already bought it from Ken or I probably would have, but he was nice enough to take it out so I could drool over it a little.

My 3 Ken Ericksons

1.) Ken Erickson English Jack Made from the original Remington Pattern
2.) Ken Erickson Coffin Jack in Elephant Ivory
3.) Ken Erickson Shadow EDC Swayback Jack Westing House Yellow Micarta

That English jack is one of my favorites from Ken! Love the bone and bolsters on that one! The other two aren't bad either ;)

Took a better picture of my stag spearpoint this morning so I'll share that.

All Ken's knives are extraordinary, but I love that English jack. What is the length closed?

It is just amazing how Ken Erickson doesn't miss one target!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Even more amazing than the knives is the man himself. He is an inspiration to those of us fortunate enough to know him.
(And those who know me know I don't make those remarks lightly.)

4.25" closed, it's a one of one, I was lucky enough to handle the original Remington that was used to make it, it's owned by one of my friends who has agreed to sell it to me when he is ready, how cool would that be to have the original from the late 30's or early 40's plus the one Ken made, we were all together at the Janesville Wisconsin show on 3/27/15

Agreed! They don't come any better than Ken. After getting to know him I'd be a fan of his even if I didn't think it was some of the absolute best slipjoint work being done today....conveniently however, his work is second to none and I'm always amazed at the patterns he takes on and how perfectly he executes them.

He can sure take on some challenging patterns, his EDC's have that same master's touch.
