Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

Same thing here Elliott: you sort of pushed me towards Ken's knives (no idea if you were aware of it or not).
Brad is way ahead (I'm still waiting for Ken to pick my name from his list, and I'm in no hurry at all) but every time this thread sees some action, even before opening it I know I will find something that catches my eye...and this time is no exception. I'm not a fan of stag but those pruners look awesome.
Glad to know Ken is fine and his knives too

I remember our many discussions via email very well, Fausto. I know you will be thrilled when the big day arrives.

[/IMG] So it's been a while since this thread bumped. I just got these pics from Ken of a stag cattle knife he just finished for me. It's exactly what I asked for, and Ken nailed it as usual! 37/8" closed, D2 steel:

Beautiful knife! Nice choice of blades. The recess for the nail nick on the small clip blade was a clever idea to keep the blades low and even the joints are sunk. Thank you for sharing the photos. Congrats!

What a treat to see some of Ken's work, jivedaddy!! It's been too long. Exceptional a per usual. Can't wait to see more pictures:D

That's an outstanding knife! Another one out of the park for Mr Erickson. Congrats!

There's nothing that I can add that hasn't been said already. It looks amazing! Congrats on that one.

Astounding multiblade. Executed perfectly by Ken. A real treat to see something recent come out of his shop~

Very nice, Tony. Ken sent me one image last night to ogle. You have excellent taste.;)

(And Ken, well, he's a master of his craft.)

Thanks Elliott, it's always a treat to get pictures of a finished knife from Ken. I love the pattern, and Ken's input was key in the look of this knife.

I love the pattern too. It's been my avatar image for several years now. It's hard to pick one particular knife as the one that stands above all others but it would definitely be a finalist, without question.

Peerless blade assortment there and they compliment each other wonderfully.

How low they all lie and that Stag is key.

Thanks, Will

That's a beauty! I'm jealous, I love Ken's cattle knife pattern, it's just so well executed, was trying to get one myself for a while but it just never happened unfortunately.

jivedaddy,
Thank You for sharing photos of Your BEAUTIFUL FOLDER.
EXCELLENT COMBINATION of FINE LOOKING BLADES.
REALLY NEAT STAG.

Ken,

Too much time had passed since the last picture of a new Erickson slipjoint...yet just one picture was enough to flood this thread with a new wave of (well deserved) enthusiasm.
And (once more!) Ken succeeds in making me lust for knives in patterns and materials I would never consider for myself...which makes me wonder what I will choose when Ken picks my name from his list
Congratulations for a wonderful knife. I hope you will carry it and forget about any other knife you own :p
