Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

My mouth dropped when I saw that cattle knife. Absolutely stunning work by Ken as always. May she serve you well.

Thanks everyone for looking. Ken really deserves all the credit he gets, he is a master knife maker/artist. No worry Fausto, I received the knife today and it went right into my pocket. The pictures don't do this knife justice! It's perfect in every way!

You cannot tease us that way. Post some pictures man! :)

Hey guys, would anyone have a current way to contact Ken? I had been talking with him on Facebook last year, and then lost contact with him. Thanks! Joe

I would be interested in that too. I just failed to find Ken on FB ...

One of the best Mondays to date. This took alot of moving parts in a deal but it is finally here. Having one of Ken's older builds (My zulu spear thanks to Jake) to compare to this newer one from 2013 cements Ken as one of my favourite knifemakers.

3 3/4 single blade jack built on a stock knife frame
Both knives feature flat grinds and CPM 154

Everything about those is perfection, Tim! Ken does amazing work.

I agree. Would love to head to the Badger show one day and meet him.
Great pair Tim!!!

Thanks Trand

Very nice, Tim. Love that pattern/shield/cover combo.

Thanks Guy~

Lovely knife Tim

Thank you Jack, carrying the Westinghouse Jack today again :) If anyone else has his work, I'd love to see more of it in this thread posted up to view.

I wasn't sure if I should say anything so I just called and got permission from Ken, (who is a very private person), to let you know that after spending the last few months with his dad living in his home, Ken being his primary caregiver, his father has passed away.

It was just too difficult during this period of time for Ken to keep up with the rigors of social media and his workload.

Ken wishes you all to know that he will be back online and in the shop as soon as the dust has settled and he has had some time to manage affairs which require attending to.

Please, let's respect his privacy and await his return so that he may have this time to reflect and spend with his family.

Thank you for this update Blues. Please let Ken know I'm terribly sorry to hear of his loss.
Best thoughts and prayers towards him and his family.

Thanks Elliott. Prayers sent for Ken and his family.

Thanks for the update Blues! I've been wondering what happened since his abrupt departure from FB but didn't want to pry. Sorry to hear it was for such serious reasons and my condolences to Ken and his whole family. Ken is one of the best, was hoping to chat with him at the Badger knife show this weekend but I'll look forward to seeing him at the fall show hopefully.

Good thoughts sent your way Ken!
