Comes in at about 3.75", which is what I consider the perfect EDC size.

Here's some spec's and additional images of the knife above:

3 7/8", A2 (etched), '70s Westinghouse ivory paper micarta, bolsters n caps, bigballs shield.

I'm really liking A2 as a great, honest all-around working steel. From a maker's standpoint it is great to work; it is plentiful, relatively inexpensive, and it's easy to grind and sharpen. I got very nice edge on this one after 400 grit belt - extra fine diamond - fine Arkansas - fine ceramic. Of course, it helps to grind them thin. ;)

That sounds like the perfect steel to me, too! I bet it's super sharp :D
And I love that etched look
Great knife - congrats!

I love A2 steel, holds incredibly and sharpens very easily, if you use a strop and compound it gets "sick sharp"
I like that one Kerry, non a fan of the ivory colour but I like the knife

do you use A2 in satin? or only blued?

Most of the A2 blades I do are etched but I have done them with a 220 grit belt finish. I suppose it would take a 800 grit hand rubbed finish as well.

good news good news Kerry
it will take a fine finish, finished a bark river in A2 to 1200 grit once, was completely scratched and gave it a hand rub (not like yours of course) and came very nice, edge shines very easily when stropped on compound

I sharpen all my stuff on a homemade strop with rough side out rubbed with green on one side then smooth side out with no compound on the other. I havent met a steel yet that wont get ridiculously sharp on that as long as its ready for it.

Oh BTW KH. The ivory was just the color I was after. Thanks again sir.

That Ivory Micarta "LC" is really a great looking
knife. It looks like it's ready to do some cutting.
Congrats to you both.

-Kerry you finished that Micarta out perfect!
looks awesome buddy.

Kerry, you are absolutely "on top of your game" here. Your knives have such a commanding and graceful presence. I look forward to my "Hampton Time".

I really like seeing how you all are using these knives I've made. It's way more gratifying knowing I have made a useful tool rather than a wall hanger. Thanks for posting up the using pix....any others?

How's this...the coffee wasn't flowing out of the cup fast enough so I used your LC to make a larger vent hole ;)

Thanks, CNasty...when my time is up here on this Earth, I can go knowing I made a knife you can stab into the top of your Starbucks. You complete me.
