Kerry Hampton Knives

A chip off the old Dog:D!
Beautiful! Nice work!!
I like the stress cracks; they make the knife alive & grizzly. Looks like old, mature ivory, which it probably is! Shiny clean and pristine doesn't. . . . .well, it DOES cut it, just not as well!!;)

Very Good, No Not Good, Great!! Kerry, you never cease to amaze me. I would bet the old Dawg is proud of you and your work. I know I am.

Kerry has asked me to send him an impression of my thumbnail. I assume this is so he can custom fit the nail nick. A good sign. Means my Khnutbuster is just around the corner. :D

Nice raft of carvers Duckman! Looks like Kerry did some fine tuning on sizes.
I wonder how many carving knives you own??:D

Charlie, I have a lot of carving knifes. Most are worn to a toothpick. With the steel Tony and Kerry are using today you dont have to sharpen as much. So they last a lot longer.

I just got my new knife in today from Kerry and thought i would share a few more pictures of this beauty.

Kerry has just outdone himself with his work on this knife. I know that he has spent many hours laboring over it and as the recipient, I cant begin to express or capture in photo's, how nice this has turned out.

Kerry had warned me that he had set aside some nice ivory - i just didnt realize how nice. Pictures dont capture the ribbons that are running through this ivory on both sides.

Spring tension is exactly as i like it - just north of medium.
Both blades are nice and tight and open and close to half stop with a definite pop.

Kerry had commented today about possibly cutting the ivory a bit thinner in the future - Kerry, my 2 cents are stay with the thickness you are using. It just feels fantastic in the hand and gives you great purchase. If I am lucky enough to get another ivory from Kerry someday, i want the same thickness in the ivory.

Thanks so much Kerry!!
