Kerry Hampton Knives

Thanks for all the positive comments. Kerry did a fantastic job on this one. When my number came up I asked for a wharncliff blade in his khnutbuster frame. we ended up with a modified wharncliff. According to www.knifehead.com (the definitive source for all things Kerry), this knife was stamped with a "0" for a prototype, the first Khnutbuster frame with a modified wharncliffe blade. I think he'll be making more of these..... :)

Damn, I duck out from this thread for a little while and I come back to these beauties. Wow, these are both first rate Hampton customs!

That 'ole Kerry sure is kick'n tail!

Congrats to all.

If ever you could kill the soul of a knife by NOT carrying and using it, Kamagong and Marrow, your KHnutbusters are just such a knife. I will have to try to get in line for one of those I think. Best looking "no bolster" knives I have seen yet.

So should I ever meet either one of you, I will probably say something like "Man, I really liked the look of that KHnutbuster you got back in March/April of 2009". I expect you to reach right in your pocket, pull it out, and say "You mean this old thing?".:thumbup:

Morrow, that is a beautiful knife. Great idea on the wharnie KHnutbuster.

Don't worry, #15 will be put to work. I haven't put it in my pocket yet because I'm saving it for the big day, but thankfully that day isn't too far off. It's taking all my willpower not to use it.

Modified Wharncliffe = Zulu Spear!
With the shield and hand jigging it's more than equal! It's a beauty!

Another nice one Kerry,Congrat's Jason. You all know how I feel about that blade style

Vince,

Kerry just learned me a new term today...."chicken eye and coon finger"

Let's see if I can use it in a sentence.

Vince, if you ever want to chicken eye and coon finger this knife, I'll send it up to you for a visit. :)

Dang Jason, an excellent combination of materials.

Another very impressive knife from Kerry.

Thanks...I may have asked for certain things but Kerry deserves all the credit for pulling it off the way he did.....a home run for sure.

hands down , without a doubt my favorite non-bolstered slip I have seen...
( and my second favorite slip overall )...

very nicely done Kerry.... incredible looking slip joint...

Jason,

Just so's that you know.. Chicken Eye'n is one term. ;) And Coon Finger'n is altogether yet another.

I mean, think about it, you might permit any old boy to go an Chicken Eye your best KHutbuster, but, It'd have to be one helluva fine friend of your'n to let him Coon Finger her too. :p ;)

:D :D :D

Buts seriously, incredible knives here!. And congrats to both you, kamagong & Kerry for these fine projects!

I got my knife yesterday and the pictures do it no justice. The F&F on this knife is superb. You'll find no gaps on this knife and you'll struggle to get a fingernail to catch anywhere. I would rate the pull at between 6 or 7 which is perfect for me. It came extremely sharp. The knife feels wonderfully comfortable in hand and the blade is perfect....no wimpy swedges on this knife. Sorry Kerry....I meant to say....no "girlie" swedges on this knife. :p

The best part about this knife is the delightful scent of lemon oil. Is is wrong to smell a new knife? Is there such a thing as that "new knife smell?"

Home run Kerry.

Not after Kerry has had access to it... That's not Lemon Oil...:p
