Kerry Hampton Knives

.......not really. It's happens more by FM.(if your dad was in the military, ask him)

My first thought was either Field Manual or Finished Machined. As I kept reading, it has to be one of the following. . . . .

FM = fibromyalgia, full moon, frequency modulation, front matter, floor management, fetal movement, or facial myokymia.

:p

. . . .yes, it's goin with me to Bastidville

Cool. I'll bring my 3 lb sledge and we can see if it will cut Loading Dock concrete. :D

Is it possible to buy Case jigged bone scales? If not..do you break into the factory ar night for yours? Illegal gain will never get you anywhere or then again...it might get you a knife sale. Those scales are great. So's the knife. I see many custom makers describing there knife scales as being so and so factory scales. Are these buyouts at auction when these factories closed or....?

John,
I think Kerry gets his limited offerings of Case Bone from his friend Tony Bose.Tony ,in case you do not know, has won awards for helping many knifemakers, has helped droves of makers!! & is,IMO,the best of the best,in his craft
He advises at the Case Co,on knifemaking. He has collab's & his initials stamped in the tangs of certain patterns of Case knives
Everyone knows this
So it is safe to say,he probably obtained the bone from Case, without casing the joint :D
Saying what it is, IMO,is proof of educating his buyers,as to what he is using & making

That made for an interesting read Kerry, thanks. That's an awesome knife. I love the blade finish you've been doing.

I can tell by looking at your knives that there is definitely FM involved! I was military so I know FM when I see FM. ;)

I spent my lowly army career teaching draftees enough English/literacy to pass the basic test that you had to take to continue your training.
But I never came across FM in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Or the boys were too embarrassed to use it in front of the "perfesser"! Talk about holes in one's education!
So someone clue me in, Please!
Great "story of creation", Kerry! Knowing the trials and tribulations behind creating a knife makes it extra special. I hope it goes to one of the KHamHos!! Autumn bone never looked so good!

Hey Charlie you must hang around the Bus Station, by your sig line.......

Darn! I've finally been caught . . . . . . .after all these years, all those bus rides!
Hey! How would YOU know, Darrell?? Huh? Huh? How???;)

Dang Kerry, every time I look at that beautiful peach seed bone Khnutbuster, my pie hole falls wide open and my eyes go bullfrog...

Thanks for sharing the blade process and the early Monday morning humor. If Mikey gets a fraction of the extra credit question right, I'll be impressed. :D

I would have never guessed that Fish Mongering would be involved in finishing such a fine piece. ;)

Ford, I’m still cyphering my reply to Kerry. I only have so many fingers and toes so I’m waiting for the rest of the family to wake up so I can continue counting, subtracting, carrying, multiplying and dividing.

Kerry, thanks for the detailed outline of how your knives are made. We probably take it for granted how much work goes into these custom knives.

I love that 52100 and Case bone on that KHnutty.

Now that you and Tony have figured out how to do rat tails, maybe match strike pulls next?

52100!!! Yummy! Great work, Kerry!:cool:

Kerry, I do not know when I have drooled so much over a knife, this one is outa the park, thanks for sharing the process and how much work you put into one. Wish, I was going to be there in Bastidville to CE & CF yours.

Great Job, CONGRATS!!!
