Kerry Hampton Knives

Back in the fall I had a chance to meet and talk with Ken Coats at the Guild Show in Louisville. One of the things about Ken's work that stands out is his excellent jig and dye work. I asked him how he did it and I subsequently did some experimentation of my own with the jigging. Here is a piece of bone that I dyed jigged with a little peach seed burr that I made.

...and a Khnutbuster that I just finished up and did a diagonal peachseed jig on black paper Micarta. First use of a little bit bigger makers stamp too.

The "Reach for the Peach" saga is unfolding as it should!!
Cool knut, Kerry; dare I say "Peachy"?:D
And it's in D-2! It's the pits, that it's not mine!

:D:D

What an awesome knife. The new jig has such a nice look and the diagonal pattern adds an interesting element. It looks like it feels great in the hand too. Way to go Kerry. Nice Job.

I love the custom jigging we've been seeing here on the forums. Kerry, that bone makes my tail wag and my mouth slobber. I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.

Lookin' good, Kerry. More weapons in the arsenal.:thumbup:

Looks Great Kerry, I think Ken taught you well. Now just save those scales until our next project comes up.:D

Maybe you can try your jigging experiment on chocolate paper micarta instead of black paper micarta next time -- might look pretty nice.

That bone looks great!
I am also interested in how that same jigging would look in a brown or natural colored paper micarta.
