Kerry Hampton Knives

Kerry: That Stag BP is one of the BEST knives I've seen, period. I am totally impressed with your skills. Now I just have to get one of your elusive knives. By the way, on knifehead.com Folder Gallery III, there are photos of an Ivory Saddlehorn with a Semi Skinner blade and a Hidden Lanyard hole. That knife is..DYN-O-MITE! Great idea for the Lanyard! An absolute Beautiful piece of Craftsmanship! Have I sucked up enough yet?

A lot of the fixed blade makers contour their butt caps to the grooves in the stag. I've always liked the look. Here is one from Mr. Bump

It would be nice to have a female knifemaker(if you could find one) in the shop, but alas, this is one idea that will not fly for several reasons.

As for the "cleavage"...it's a trick of light and shading. That shield follows the radius of the stag and is otherwise smooth and flat. But, that is a crazy idea that someone should try. ;)

Have you, or anyone reading this, seen a folder where the stag is left whole right up to the bolster, and the bolster "formed" to the stag in a similar fashion?
Not sure how that would play out, but that would be sort of the equivalent.

Nah, not mine. Wish it was. Yanked it from a thread in the Custom Forum. Bruce is supposed to be making me a slippy one of these days....tick, tock, tick, tock ;)

I bet if you came up with an "interesting" name for it that Kerry could be convinced to make it.

Hey Campbell come to the CKCA dinner on Thursday night (at Blade) and you can put in for a Bruce Bump two blade feather pattern damascus, with amber stag. His first damascus slippie. Contact me if you want more info.;):thumbup:

Yea, PM me with the details. We usually grab dinner somewhere Thursday but Kerry is usually so drunk by 3pm that we end up having to "kerry" him around everywhere, so I may ditch him and hang out with the adults. ;) ;) (just kiddin big guy)

That knife by Bruce Bump won Best of Show, and Best Damascus at Oregon last April!
He's only made a handful of folders - I'm waiting for one also Campbell - tock, tick, tock tick. . . .:cool:

:confused:...makin me think now. They are pretty hard to make already but I s'pose that could be done.

LOL...you'd be smart to do that. I'll remind you that I happened to make it around all of Atlanta on my own power, thank you, except for the time spent in the cab.;)

Almost too sexy to come out of the KnifeHead's workings. :p :D

Hey I'm sexy dammit, in an olefart kinda way. Therefore, it's only natural that sexy flows from my sexy fingertips....

...pass the Courvoisier please :D:thumbup::cool:

I took this impromptu picture of Kerry enjoying the “hot tub/washer/dryer” facility at Blade last year.
