Kershaw Cryo?

- I don't own the Cryo, but that was the only real issue that I had with it. Does anyone actually use a lanyard with a knife this small?

The lanyard hole is also the Hinderer standoff. Whether the hole was there or not, it would have been near impossible to make the knife any more deep carry without a different styled clip. Making the standoff hollow and utilizing it as a functional lanyard is truly a great use of space. It's about options, and this knife has plenty (except the ability to be a manual).

Having a 1/4 inch of metal showing is minuscule. Pull the trigger and buy one ;)

- Thanks. I actually didn't know that the standoff was in that position. That actually makes more sense to me now. I have other deep carry knives, I just thought it was odd that the Cryo was truly deep carry only in the tip down configuration. I'll probably pickup one up for my wife since I usually like to carry larger blades.

I see some sites are selling it around $42 and up, the 2 inch blade length and 8cr is not worth that price point IMO....if the blade length was at least 3 1/2 inches then yes I think it would be worth over $40.

There are also sites selling it for under $31 with free shipping, which I think most would agree is a good price.

#1 came in today. Sweet little knife, for sure. I may stop carrying the Mini-Cyclone, now.

There are two problems I see with this knife. #1 is that it says China on the blade. Yeah, I know, cost, etc...but it's the first non-USA made blade I've bought in years. The second is that now I'm going to need a 0560, because it's a addictive little flipper that just convinced me that the Hindered style is quite nice.

arrrgh mine came in today and it is a little tight and my torx bits are at the house.....

also has anyone successfully deassisted this knife? I can't stand assisted knives so I will be cracking mine open as soon as I get home today.

It's just a torsion spring in the non-lock side of the knife. I took mine out already and everything flips just fine. I'll probably put it back in, but I'm headed to a concert after work and don't want to risk any possible chance of it being called a "switchblade" in the incredibly rare chance it would be seen.

Check out the video on the bottom of page 22 of this thread.

I ordered a couple yesterday @ $31ea + shipping. I'm not huge on the non-USA knives, but I do love the hinderer collaborations (I have a 0561 and a 0550) and you can't beat the price point on this.

I made a dummy cord for mine.

The black part clips to a black loop that goes on my belt. The orange cord I got from REI for camping. I tied two nooses to secure it to the knife and clip. It's long enough to use without unclipping it for most task. I used the same rig for my full size Griptilian in Iraq.

A little update, mine works just fine without the torsion bar. The detent is actual better than my deassisted blur.

Now it is truly a sweet little knife. As for as value goes this is awesome.

Wow! I got mine today! Great little EDC that I can use on the ambulance. I'll post pics tomorrow. Now the wait begins for Cryo II!

Ermahgerd! Kurshur Crurryo! Yep, mine came in today, delivered at work. Needless to say, I didn't do any real work the rest of the day. Mmmmmm. I recorded a first impressions/overview video, and I'll throw it up tomorrow. A little Kershaw on a DSLR couldn't hurt, right? Right!?

Oh, and these are cell phone pictures:

Are there any pics of the "Cryo - Hinderer SS Folder Blk Ti" on here? I see it listed as a SECOND version at ineedmoregear.com, but it's $50; they're out of stock. I think it must be a mistake.

It's likely the Cryo 2, or just an error.

Edit: My overview video just finished uploading. My second ever knife video, hope you folks enjoy. I adjusted the picture profile on the camera to get proper color reproduction of the finish. It's pretty close to what it actually looks like. Cheers!

I've been EDCing this Little Beast for about a week now and have to say... I'm Very Impressed :thumb up:!!! It's handled everything I've used it for and then some and it's holding it's edge very well. I think this model can be categorized as one of the "Little Big Knives". This is definitely a "Must Have" for all the Kershaw Enthusiasts... and Knife Enthusiasts alike. You won't be disappointed ;).
