Just ordered my Cryo today. Can't see how it's a bad way to spend $30.
Where'd you order from?
Well lets put it this way...my order is now cancelled.
I looked on knifecenter.com and it said it was in stock. I placed an order and got an email saying it was ready to ship as the status.
So I took a break and went to the pool for an hour. Got home and had a voicemail from them saying that my item was not available, they weren't even able to fill the backorders yet, and they had no idea when they would get more.
I was told upon callback that they received a shipment of them and they were accidentally entered into the system, but they were not available to me yet. I then told them to cancel my order.
Guess I'll be waiting a while for one.
Finally, received my pre-order from KC. It's a cool little knife. Just took out the speedsafe spring and I like it that much more. Very smooth action, but a weak detent since there is no pocket for the detent ball- must be because of the speed safe design. Not hair shaving sharp, but definitely good enough for edc.
A special thank to Kershaw for making a well made, low price point, Hinderer Knives collaboration blade. All in all, I'm very happy about the purchase(s).
Loving my Cryo! I took out my torion bar and gave the detent a better place to sit![]()
I don't know anything about the inners of knives, so can you guys help me understand the reasoning behind removing a speedsafe spring or a torsion bar.
That's just the assisted-open mechanism. Basically, it turns the knife from assisted-open to manual. Just a matter of personal preference.
Got mine in today. Great little knife, locks up great, flipper is easy and the coating seems to get grippier when wet. I have an easy time using the thumbstuds, which was one thing I'd heard other mention as being hard to do, probably just a grip thing. Wish the flipper/ricasso area wasn't so sharply cornered, mine cut up my thumb a little so I'll probably take a stone to it to get the bur off.
