I'm waiting on one from Amazon. Paid a little more, but got an email that it has shipped.

Any tips on what bit you used?

I tried to just put in a divot with a small drill bit in the drill press. The only suitable size I could find in my toolbox faired no match. I ended up having way better luck though with a crafting dremel bit with the diamond coating chucked up in the drill press. I'll go snap a pic of the bit.

Just ordered one. Can't beat it for $32. Needed something cheaper than my 0550 to use at work and it matches.

I don't know anything about the inners of knives, so can you guys help me understand the reasoning behind removing a speedsafe spring or a torsion bar.

That's just the assisted-open mechanism. Basically, it turns the knife from assisted-open to manual. Just a matter of personal preference.

Not necessarily just personal preference. Spring operated knives are illegal in some states, like North Carolina York for example.

I typed North Carolina but I ment New York.

^ These Assisted Knives are legal in NC... Hell they sell them at Walmart (Blurs and leeks)..

I've been carrying mine for over a week and I simply love it. As others have indicated, it cuts as if it's a larger knife - kind of reminds me of the Izula in that regard. A bit heavy, but lockup is just rock-solid and the steel is holding a pretty good edge.

Kershaw has been knocking it out of the park lately. I'm usually more of a Spyderco guy, but the last 4 knives I've gotten have been Kershaws. What a great time to be a knife enthusiast!

Mine helped with a Dell shipment today, cut open, and broke down about 96 boxes. I cleaned it while going but here she is still a bit dirty before end of the day cleanup:

I'm actually going to start looking for a custom knife around this size, its perfect now that I have an office job. My Emersons, Bumps, Buck 110, and bigger spydercos are a lot less people friendly. Its really quite amazing just how well the Cryo cuts. Its the best of both worlds; Big (for its size) beefy framelock handle with a LBS, and a blade that still slices like theres no tomorrow. The clip is also working well for me in tip up, just enough to easily grab but still barely showing against darker pants (even jeans). Good job Kershaw!

^^^^ 8cr13mov isn't the greatest, but It works well as on EDC steel. I usually get 2 weeks before I need to sharpen, and 5 min on the sharpmaker and you can shave with it.

just received mine yesterday. i like the heft of the knife and the size. it fits great in my hand and doesn't feel slippery at all. the coating somehow provides a nice grip to it. very impressed for a $30 knife.

I've been using mine at work and in and around the house and its a great little knife. My only problem is I don't have the right tools to remove the pocket clip as I'm left handed. I need to go pick something up. Anyone here know of a good tool set or kit that also includes a knife sharpener?

Not a sharpener but you should get a kershaw T-Tool comes with t-6 and 8 torx and a philips head..Those are the 2 most common torx i use
