Kershaw has a new award winner - the Speedform

Thanks for the plug JC.

Yes the Speedform did win the American Made Knife of the Year for 09.

Hopefully delivery will begin in 90-120 days. We will try to incorporate tip up/down capabilities.

I love the sound of a tip-up speedform! :D

That knife is just too cool looking, nice sharp, clean lines. Can't wait to try out the Elmax!

Congrats Kershaw!

I like everything about that knife except the pocket clip. Move it down below the pivot, and make it about twice as wide and solid and it'll be perfect.

I'm too hard on pocket clips for that to last too long.

Yet to me it is a thing of beauty. As mentioned it looks more like a clip from a quality pen. Added to the sleek shape of the knife it works fine for me.

congrat kershaw. i have enjoyed the recent designs. this one looks like a winner!

I agree that it's a nice looking clip. But like I said, I'm pretty hard on pocket clips (I run into things a lot ) so I don't see that lasting very long in my pocket.

And with that clip placement the knife looks like it would ride a bit too low for my tastes.

But, all that said, if I get a chance to handle one I certainly will.

What's funny is that if it did ride as high as you would like then there would be people say, "I like it but it just rides too high in the pocket for my taste." :p

I personally like it, but then I like a low ride clip and I'm not hard on them.

Different strokes for different folks and all that.....:D

I know, but I'm a freak. In my opinion, the point of a pocket clip is to make the knife more accessible, not hide it. I'm not concerned about who knows I'm carrying, and low ride clips are actually a deal breaker for me.

But hey, you likes what you likes. And I just happen to like knives that ride a little higher. But my main concern is that I've broken a few pocket clips in the past (a Spyderco and a Kershaw), so I look for good sturdy clips.

Not speed safe  This puts me back in the Kershaw market!

Love the blade profile!
Not sure about the handle though; the screws just don't fits in I think (looks like they took what was lying on the desk at the moment of putting the pieces together :/)

Price range is a bit high for my pockets too, bummer

Just my 2¢

O.

This knife will hit the street for well under $200 if current MSRP vs. Reality prevails...

LOVE the pocket clip, but that's about it. And I'm a HUGE Kershaw fan.

I also think it was especially silly to call it the Speedform when it is in fact NOT a Speedsafe knife. That is going to cause much confusion (as shown already in this thread).

That's a good looking knife, but the clip looks especially fragile to me. The clip looks like a recipe for disaster, IMO. One screw? And super thin? Folks are going to be bending/ breaking those things left and right.

.
We actually thought about grabbing random screws from the maintenance room and forcing them into the handle, but then thought better, and had them sized for a precision fit. Tried to keep from being too silly...at least with the screw portion.

I'm all over one of these whichever way Kershaw decides to deliver them.

Looks super comfortable in the hands (though may be slick).

I don't really care for the looks though. Too futuristic? Not
sure if that's the best description, but it reminds me of a
contemporary art piece.

oooooooo.... I like that. Just hope they make the handle less slippery than the Shallot.
