Kershaw has a new award winner - the Speedform

Ken, there's been a few posts accusing us of lefty hate. I'm afraid this piece won't do anything to change their minds.

If only they spent liked they whined...;)

Interesting perspective, I guess your customers are always right ;)

No whining here, I'll move on, really beautiful design though.

congrats, got to have one of these and I am not much of a kershaw fan, dont change a thing...

The clip is wire EDM cut out of a billet chunk of titanium so it does not have the stress of a bent titanium clip.

I hope you put the clip for tip-up carry as close to the end as possible. I love my Kershaws, but most of them stick out WAY too far when carried tip-up.

I've have carried it since the Blade Show and think everyone will love this knife when it hits the street. Thanks again Thomas, and the Kershaw gang for giving me a Proto-type to add to my collection of CB Knives.

I'm not happy about Thomas beating me out of dinner on the Red Wings losing the CUP though,

Darrell

I love this blade. First framelock design that I actually like the looks of. Don't get me wrong. Framelocks are great...I just think more framelocks could look symmetrical like the Speedform.

Anyone have pics of the Kershaw Volt?

Very nice design! Clean, simple, elegant.

What I especially like about the framelock is the fact that they did not take away a lot of material to cut out the framelock like many other models (Barrage, OD-1, Leek).

Thanks for the plug JC.

Yes the Speedform did win the American Made Knife of the Year for 09.

Hopefully delivery will begin in 90-120 days. We will try to incorporate tip up/down capabilities.

What about us SouthPaws :( Out of luck again I guess
I guess I'll stick w/ my ZT0350:D

Hi,

I saw a picture of the speedform (on different websites), coming from a flyer I think, on which it's precised that the handle is made from titanium with integrated G10 inlays (as for the upcoming "Volt").
However, I've never seen any picture of it with inlays, only plain titanium.

Do anybody have a clue ?

regards,

Tonio

Does look like a potential buy.

Clean design, decent steel. The already mentioned clip issue isn't a deal breaker to me.

Congrats on the award, too.

Here's a picture that Google turned up:

Blade shape is Exactly what I like!

Looks like I'll have to get one of each, Speedform, and Volt.

My wife's gonna kill me.

The Volt is a classic looking knife dressed up in a space suit! Looking forward to trying the Bohler M390 cutting edge!

From what I can find, the Bohler M260 Microclean has a very fine grain structure. C 1.90, Si 0.70, Mn 0.30, Cr 20.00, Mo 1.00, V 4.00 and W 0.60. Should be tough as nails and extremely corrosion resistant.
