I understand that about 1,000 of these limited edition JD2 knives were made.

Quite a looker. Please post your pictures.

All the same?

Was the blade considered a composite?

What were OTD prices back then and what's a reasonable price now?

They sold for $120 to $150 range in 2008. The last one sold on ebay for $295. It had a 2.2 composite not the SG2 blade. A NIB one sold on here in 2011 for $200.

Bought mine to use. Carries great even with the goofy clip. Takes and holds a scary sharp edge. Really nice in pocket if you reach in pocket it doesnt eat you're hand.

I bought this one and a few others years ago. I don't think I paid more than $130 for any of them. I had all of them fitted for deep carry tip up clips from STR. I ended up selling two and sending this one to Brad Southard for an overhaul. IKBS was added to the pivot, an addition of a carbon fiber overlay as well as a carbon fiber backspacer, the handle was given an acid washed finish, and the blade was given a hand satin finish. It still has the deep carry tip up clip from STR.

I'll have to take a picture of my trio of JYD's. Two of them I sent to have reground by Tom Krein and are wicked slicers.

I carry this one nearly everyday hiking it cuts the briars off my paths with ease and always sharpens up quickly to a hair poppin edge.

Hands down my favorite Kershaw. It consistently knocks my Paramilitary II out of my pocket.

I've searched around the past day or so for one of these Junkyard Dog II 1725SG2 knives but none can be found. I guess most who have one are using and loving them. There are perhaps others who want to hang on to them until they appreciate more in price.

I've seen a few variations but could not quite figure them out. One style has a army symbol on the steel handle but the blade looks different than the ones with the black g10 handle?

Maybe some information can be found out in this thread.
