I did that to one of mine also. The puzzle pattern looks really nice with the rivet pattern on the handles. Great minds think alike.

The JYD is becoming one of my all time favorite designs. I think I need to pick up one of those black blade versions. But I have no problem carrying my TiSG2. I wish Kershaw would make a 3in version in Ti.
Last I checked that source RamZar found still has them in stock. If I wasn't so broke I'd buy another one.

Black G-10 with a satin blade.
Some are also DLC.
Also there are two different colors of the 1725 gray. The early ones were a very light color of gray almost green. The later ones are a darker true gray. Some have the rivet pattern some don't. Some use very course g-10 and some use very fine grain mostly smooth g-10.

Just bought another one of the SG2 JYD's, thanks to Ram's help. Considering a blem is selling for $200, why not get the new one.

Ok, have to ask, I have 2 of these now and both of the detent "balls" are super flat. Both were bought new in box. Are yours like this?

Are you talking about the 1725SG2? I only have one and I don't see a difference between it and a regular 1725CB but then again I haven't taken them apart.

I bought one a few years ago, and the detent ball is indeed flat. Not sure if it came that way, but it is now. Sometimes makes the opening feel scratchy, but not always.
