Kershaw Link. WOW!

Does Alexey Konygin get paid for these, or are they just really, really similar to his designs?

The blade, yes. Some of his other handles are similar.

When people say that Sanrenmu is stealing from Chris Reeve with the 710, this is just as close.

So your saying that Kershaw Link design is a direct copy and theft from Alexey's work based on "similar" shaped blade and some similar shaped handles on some of Alexey's other knives?

Nope. I'm saying that the Link is just as similar to Alexey's range as a SRM 710 is to a Sebenza (which is not a direct copy, either).

I'm not particularly wound up about the "theft" that occurs when someone copies the style of another maker, but a lot of knife people do. Just surprised no one else saw the family resemblance (and got all upset about it).

Can't say I see it myself but if that's your opinion you are entitled to it. :)

Aluminium and 420HC steel?
Anodized aluminum, 420hc steel, assisted opening, made in usa....for 40 bucks!?

Yes, best value blade out there. Only competition is the Buck Vantage, but I have to say the Link is done better.

That's because there is NO simularities,......other than they are both knives.

Please expand on your statement. I just googled his knives, and the only ones I saw that come close to similarities are the T90/T50. Both are frame-lock flippers, contoured titanium scales, high flat ground blade, and appear larger than the Link.

Lol, like someone else posted, you're subject to you're opinion. But I also think you're subject to an eye exam in the near future.

Well, I too don't see a resemblance between the presented Alexey Konygin knife and the link, but I thought, "What else does that guy design?" Here is the CKF T90:

But we all know that the Link came from the ZT 0770, which came from the 0777, right? Of course, we all know that they stole that design from Microtech!!!! :p J/K
The soon-to-be 0095 features the same design lineage.

For clarification, here is the Kai, USA spokesman on BF regarding the Microtech copy: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/901807-The-Original-0777
Remember, this design debuted in 2011, won "knife of the year" in some circles.

This was the first post I could find about Alexey: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/950683-New-name-from-Russia-Alexey-Konygin
Note, that OP mentions that Alexey is young and just into knives, the Decepticon being among his first designs-made-manifest... in 2012. When did the CKF T90 come out? Was it pre-2011? Wasn't it December 2015?

Maybe they fired up the flux capacitor on their Delorean and went back to the future to copy it?

This thread convinced me to go out and get one. Nice knife with a great blade shape. Mine came in a bit dull so some touch up on the Lansky and some stropping, now it cuts great.

I just bought the $5 home depot version

I work at Home Depot and have purchased a few of them. They will teach you the difference between a good set and a bad set, because the HD versions are terrible. Actually, I should clarify - the T8 (and larger) bits are fine, but I feel that the true test is the smaller bits. My T6s have all twisted. Do yourself a favor and get some Wihas.

Man, I need to pick up one of them 0095s ;)

Link is a great knife and totally not the same as the SRM 710.
