Kershaw Link. WOW!

Man, I need to pick up one of them 0095s ;)

Link is a great knife and totally not the same as the SRM 710.

Nah, the person above was comparing the SRM 710 to the Sebenza, not the link (I looked it up, it pretty much is a ripoff of the Sebenza design). He thought the Decepticon folder looked like the link. The only similarity I see is that they are both knives, no clue what he is seeing, but he has a different set of eyes lol

For $60 though, this knife looks incredible. The blade centering puts marfione knives to shame

Interesting! Tell us about your experience with "marfione knives" that has led you to make that conclusion, if you would.

Actually, I didn't say it looked like a Decepticon. That picture was posted in response to my comment. I said it had similarities to a variety of Alexey's knives. And I'm really, really sorry I said that and I hope you'll all forgive me for being so horrible.

I have a 710 and had a Sebenza. They are vaguely similar in shape, but don't feel the same, aren't ground the same and aren't made of even vaguely similar materials. It is more different from a Sebenza than every Buck 110 clone is to a Buck 110. To my eye, the Kershaw reminded me strongly of Alexey's designs. And for that I am, again, really, really sorry.

So sorry.

What's really great is how thin the blade is. They really put some thought into boosting performance every way they could with low end materials.

It's the best cutting Kershaw

The cryo treated 420hc sharpens to a razor edge with ease.

The problem you are having is one of chronology, and you may recall you asked:

Does Alexey Konygin get paid for these, or are they just really, really similar to his designs?

That's an offensive comment for which you should be sorry, so I am glad to read your apology. Alexey is new to knives. Among his first designs was the Decepticon, it is the design he is known for, quite unique and not really similar to the Link. I was personally curious what "variety" of Alexey's designs you might be referring to. If you read my post above, you'll see that I found ONE and only ONE that does indeed closely resemble the Link. Unfortunately, Alexey's link-similar design didn't come into existence until 3 months ago, whereas the Link's design came into existence with the 0777 back in 2011... which was a full YEAR before Alexey even came on the scene with the Decepticon? So you should be asking:

"Does Kershaw get paid for that particular Alexey's knife, or is his just really, really similar to their design that preceded his by 4 years?

I guess I haven't apologized for my ill informed comment enough.

So I'm really, really, really, REALLY sorry I made this mistake in identifying the timeline and influence of knives. It was a really, really, really terrible thing for me to do, really, really bad and I'm really, really, really, really sorry for the pain I have caused the knife community and any pain that I have caused to you personally for this dreadful question I have posted.

But the chronology was correct. I had thought that there was more than one Konglin knife that applied. And I am really, really, REALLY, really sorry I thought that and then made my comment without more fully researching the "heritage" of the Link; having a more extensive knowledge of Zero Tolerance as a KAI company and not being a more fit and loving human being as a result.

At this point I think it important that you know just how very, very, very, very sorry I am about making this dreadful, embarrassing, heart wrenching, devastating, immoral, blasphemous and tasteless error in knife pedigree knowledge. I will endevour in the coming years to attempt to make up for my awfulness among the fine, wise and incredible people of the bladeforums (TM), and can only say that I am really, really, really, REALLY, really, really, really really sorry for the pain, confusion and general devastation I have caused to the you fine people.

I'm really sorry.

Alright, enough of this acrimony and sarcasm. Back to the topic at hand.

I sold my Link a few months ago but found myself missing so much that I got another recently when I stopped by a big box outdoor store. There really is something about the FRN that's eminently "fondleable" and it's impressive how so much blade gets tucked into the handle, providing a long hollow grind for slicing. Hope this has been a big winner for KAI and they make more variants in the future.

This is the best thing I've read today.

Got to handle, and take home, an aluminum blackwash version w/flag today. Very impressed with the quality and value on this one. Fast flipper, no play, centered blade, very sharp, good F&F. Only let down is mine came without a detent hole in the blade, and I would've loved to see how this thing performed as a manual. Put in an e-mail to KAI, So we'll see what they say. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy it as it came.

The blade, yes. Some of his other handles are similar.

When people say that Sanrenmu is stealing from Chris Reeve with the 710, this is just as close.

Two things, you might want to have your eyes checked and second, stop fanning flames and trying to start trouble where none should exist. The second part is not optional and is a requirement for everyone. Enough of the trolling commentary, better to let someone think you are a fool than to type something out and prove them right.

I'm sorry, Rev. I was a fool for thinking Kongin knives looked similar and not making my previous apology for that more sincere.

Howdy folks!
Haven't been too active lately. :(

I guess I got....content.
I didn't feel the need to buy anymore knives, since I had a few that I really liked.
But, I went shopping today, and I've been eyeing a Kershaw link lately. So I bought it.
Now, I have a CRK. And to be honest, again, I've been a bit ruined. Everything I touch with a blade on it gets compared to it.
So far, the only thing I have that is comparable is a ZT 0200.
But this Link, blows me away.

It came super sharp. A couple passes on my Sharpmaker made this sucker a lightsaber.
The blade is dead-center. Like perfect.
No bladeplay.
Early lockup.
Clean lines and good fit.
Good pocket clip.
Made in USA.
And the assist fires like a F1 car. Fast and powerful.

I've been avoiding Kershaw. It seems like they have taken stock in 8Cr13MOV, and my Leek literally fires its screws loose.

But they must have gotten their things together, because this $60 knife is comparable to my CRK. Amazing.

You guys liking yours as much as I already am?

Thank you for your post. I was encouraged to go out and buy a Link, so I did. Everything you have said is spot on; this thing is practically flawless! Mine doesn't have the flag logo, to which I am indifferent. I'd be willing to pay $100 for a version in G10, no doubt. I purchased it along with 2 other USA made Kershaws and while the others are great, the Link takes the cake.

If you don't have one, your collection is lacking!
