Kershaw Premium Skyline Carbon Fiber S30V

Not one to dog a manufacture's design, but with super premium materials like a carbon fiber scale and S30v you'd think they'd upgrade that awful clip. Looks like the same sorry clip they put on the $19 China El-Cheapo. Almost a deal-breaker for me,...almost (heehee!)

...The carbon fiber handles and premium S30V steel take this knife to another level.
...
Ok, I understand that, the CF is premium material, this limited edition is premium too, but why is the S30V steel premium?
I think it's a standard mid-level steel nowadays.
IMHO Elmax(?), M390, S90V, S110V, M4 etc. are really premium steels.

You do realize the same clip is also found on some of the best selling ZTs? 0300, 0350, 0550 Gen 1, 0200, etc.

Definitely not "el cheapo"

Very tempting. I'm low on funds but I can't pass this up.

The clip doesn't go with though. In fact, I never liked the clip even on the standard Skylines also. KAI clips have improved greatly the last couple years, they can do something with it down the road maybe?

I would have liked to see the s30v steel but with the g10 scales, maybe orange, brown, green or ? That might have saved some on the price by not uskng CF ones.

Meh... Not for me. I never thought I would say this in a million years, but I am actually tiring of carbon fiber scales. My base Skyline will do just fine for now.

Nope. The BFC Skyline was the same with Blue g10 and it was basically the same price ~$100.

I think a lot of people don't understand that going from a steel like 14c28n to s30v adds a LOT to the cost of manufacturing even if the base price of the steel isn't too different.

You maybe right but I think Kershaw should start using a better steel than the 14c28n without tripling their price!

To be fair - you can get a blem for $30, but a basic Skyline is closer to $50 and these knives not only have better steel, but also CF handles. IMHO, they are a pretty good buy when you really think about it. :)

When I bought my basic Skyline (non-blem) it was $25. Was on sale on Amazon, but still... ATM they're going for <$40.

Actually, most of tne time they can be found for 35-40. Thats why I stated "triple the price". :)

I still would rather have a colored g10 than the CF is the price was cheaper as just changer the steel could keep the cost down. Also not a fan of coated blades.

That's cool they're making some with better materials, but I think they're forgetting why the Skyline is so popular. It's a decent edc design that isn't expensive. $100+ for a Skyline? I'll pass.

It's also very lightweight, likely made lighter by the fact that it's now in carbon fiber.

This is really cool and tempting, but ill probably pass just because I already have 2 skylines and hardly use either one. Its just too small a knife for me so they dont get picked for carry. Its nice to see upscale variants though.
