Kershaw quality is questionable

new guy spouting off bile and has no evidence. . . be easy to consider it trolling.

You should calm down. STR was saying the opposite- that you were not trolling. Post some pics of the knives and all doubts will be laid to rest. Spazzing out doesn't lend you any credibility.
I guess NOT HAVING blind loyalty to a company is the definition of a troll. Spazzing out? LOL

As for pics. Well, I am not one to spend, open a box on a brand new product and just worry about it next whenever. I get the damn thing fixed.

I only buy quality. My experience considering the number ratio of good to bad knives is inexcusable.

QUESTIONS FOR ALL OF YOU.

How would you feel about Kershaw knives if 4 of 9 had problems since you began purchasing Kershaw knives?

Also

How did you feel about Kershaw that moved you to purchase 9 knives since November 2007?
(I really hope none of you had to think on this one)

Some of these comments are weak and are more concerned about defending a company the understanding a 'Kershaw quality problem' a fellow knife fan's experience with your beloved Kershaw.

Sheesh, no wonder quality slips if expectations are so low.

Bye for now if I stay on the Kershaw forum any longer today it will become real TROLLING instead of simply sharing and participating.

I am glad I understand what posts are considered taboo around here. Hmmm, me thinks there something wrong with this Kool-Aid?

Yeah I would be upset if I bought 9 knives and 4 had problems. I do know though that kershaws customer service is excellent and they would replace them and make it right. So did they make it right? You said you sent the knives back to them, or the retailer, I find it hard to believe that you received 4 replacements that had problems also.

Kershaw has the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Of course they backed their products.

I had four flaws, three sent into Kershaw for repair. Kershaw stood behind EVERYTHING! I am not a Kershaw basher or anti-Kershaw at all.

I do not know if Kershaw will replace my ill fitting Nakamura scales but I am so burnt out on this circus I am just going to forget about my Nakamura and leave it unsatisfactory to me (which will drive me nuts now and then). 100% sick of sending things into Kershaw and it has nothing to do with their customer service or Kershaws willingness to back their products.

I need to forget about Kershaw knives for awhile too --- experience with this company (and this forum) has left a bad taste in my mouth.

It is not much fun collecting Kershaws anymore.

If you sent your Nakamura to Kershaw already for "other problems" you should have said something about the scales, I am sure they would have replaced it with a new one. I understand it sucks to get a new knife and have to send it in to the company for a replacement, but it happens sometimes. I have had it happen with tons of products from other companies, I just have been lucky enough not to have it happen with kershaw.

First, I am not trolling. THAT IS JUST AN IDIOTIC ASSERTION.

For the record I never said you were trolling. In fact I stated the opposite.

But why excuse it as a consumer.

No one said you or anyone else should excuse it or that you were not welcome to comment about it if you have a concern about a product. I would advise caution jumping to conclusions though, or reading emotion between the lines of what some post in response by reacting as if its an attack and that goes for everyone. You expect to comment here so expect replies. Get argumentative it feeds the fire and makes it grow. If that is what your intent is it will soon become obvious. If on the other hand you just wanted to voice your experiences thats fine but I'd suggest doing so without assuming things like all Kershaw's products or one model of a product (Nakimura) is "FUBAR" as you put it just because you've seen and handled a whole nine or ten of the many thousands made to date by Kershaw.

You still haven't answered my question. Why didn't you have the scales
looked into with it's 1st trip to Kershaw??.......Since you get damn things
fixed.
I said something about the scales. Of course I did. That was just ignored/overlooked I guess. I did not expect that would be take care of anyway. I just added it in to the whole quality thing anyway and it did not matter because it was the last straw

Sorry...I knew this forum could not handle the truth. This place is not the appropriate place.

I should have NEVER posted my knife trouble here. The defense blind of a company? The incestuous fanboy activity supporting everything from said company. This place is nauseating.

I am here to tell you that KAI USA is not as lame as you all are leading people to believe. Kershaw NEEDS criticism just like you would get if we worked at Kershaw and did not perform to expectations. Kershaw Knives works for me until I choose to stop PURCHASING or employing the use of these tools.

I am just not going to PURCHASE Kershaw knives anymore or participate in 'The Emperor has no Clothes' Kershaw Forum.

Thank you for answering my question.
I would love to see pics of the scales, if it's not to much of an inconvenience.

I personally have purchased 11 Kershaw's since my join date of March '08 and one before(the Leek is the one that started it all) for a total of 12 Kershaws in probably 5 months and have had no problems with any of them, none, nada, zip. The only thing you could even come close to calling a problem was my Lahar's blade was ever so slightly off center, but that was remedied easily enough. I am extremely happy with the price and great quality of the Kershaws I have purchased as I think alot of the people here are.

Unfortunately Steama I think your case is more the exception than the rule. Although I will admit that I'm sure when you have as many knives per year rolling of the line as Kershaw does there are bound to be a few that are less than perfect that get by, and it seems like you may have gotten more than your fair share of these. But like I said I think your case is the exception. Kershaw strives to put out a quality product and IMO does a damn good job! Don't give up on 'em just yet!

not to be a smarta^* but try buying 'em from a knife shop, that way at least you can see and handle them BEFORE you buy em and know what kind of quality you're gonna get.

I'm no mod, but IMO this last post is close to trolling. Pardon my ignorance STR if i am wrong.

We dont mind you sharing your opinions. We welcome it. What we dont like is when someone comes in, shares there opinion honestly *which you did in the original post*, they see a post that states the others opinion of thinking you are trolling, and you basically go off on them. We asked many times for pics. Never recieved them.

You made it clear that you were not happy with the Nakumara. OK, fine. so just get rid of it. How blasted hard is that to do instead of complaining about it for the majority of this thread?

You feel that you should tell others about your experiance. OK fine. Go right ahead. Take into consideration that we have all had our problems, and have found some way to right them. Be it warranty or just plain releaving ourselves of the knife. Also take into consideration that QC is done by humans. Excuse them for not being perfect.

As far as the "can't handle the truth" comment, you may want to watch a certain movie again to actually understand that statement.

Steama,

Thank you for your post. I believe that there is little that can be said that will alter the way you feel about our quality or our quality control.
However please know that your post has our attention.

If possible could you explain in detail the issues you had with the SG2 Blur and 1660DAM leek.

Thank you for answering my question.

He isnt going to take pictures, he made stated that in an earlier post.

I don't get why you are so defensive and hostile steama.

Steve made several good points. So have others, and done so with honorable and helpful intentions. Personally I don't see blind defense of anyone. Others just stating their opinions, as have you. Criticism can be given and taken in two ways: constructive or derogatory. I personally feel your first post started off as a bit of both, but that's OK. I am intelligent enough to cull out the emotion from the facts. Your choice of knives is a personal decision. If you feel Kershaw isn't up to your standards, that's OK too. Not all knives are for everyone.

You mentioned that you shouldn't have posted this here. Perhaps you are correct, and the issue should have been kept private between you and Kershaw. As for your comments on nauseating, fanboy, incestuous and "no clothes", well now you're back in the derogatory area. Do you really expect to find support with this attitude? Don't think you'll get it...here or anywhere else.

Good luck in the future. I hope you find that perfect company!

Well said.

anyone else find it a little odd we've had 2 of the type of posts in the last week? Both of them were unable to or just plain wouldn't post pics to back up their claims, they both like to call us "fanboy's" and such for backing up a brand we believe in, and they were both much quicker to become hostile than to pick up on the helpful comments and advice given by the members here.

Steama, you wouldn't happen to know a guy named Stelth would ya? Just curious.
