Kershaw Tactical Pack now in stores

I saw this while walking through the walmart in payson az the other day...decided for $20, it was worth it.
The knife is pretty decent, heck its more than decent. The pen is pretty cool, the light is a cheapo one. It's definitely a 'stocking stuffer' type of thing. However..no one I know would want this. My dad said it was cool, but he has a Skyline, so, this isn't a huge step up, if at all.
Mine will definitely be a "keep in the truck" kit. I still like it for $20. They had tons of them at the walmart in payson, if there are any northern az guys here.

The Skyline is a better knife hands down.

I would agree, it is definitely worth it for $20. I already have a skyline and a cryo, but I will probably mod the brawler and add it to the edc rotation. At that price, I would rather have something happen to it than my other knives. It is also a lot more comfortable in the hand than I thought it would be. Needs SB bushings and more jimping though.

The tacticool pen is a good size for my big hands, and it seems like it can take some serious abuse, but it is a little overbuilt for a writing implement. Very heavy. Takes Parker refills.

The flashlight seems to be the same one Harbor Freight gives away, but in flat black and with a little thicker metal. Side by side they look almost identical, but the Kershaw one is definitely heavier. The batteries don't seem to rattle around inside like with the HF version also. It's still a 9-led cheapy though, but good to have in the glovebox "just in case".

I was wondering what refills the pen took. Thanks!

Well..my Wally just got them!!

Gotta say I'm really impressed. The knife is super sharp, fast and fits my hand well.If anyone is wondering there is no detent if the torsion bar is taken out :(

Flashlight isdecent, perfect for the car.

The pen is super heavy duty and feels really nice.

Thanks Kershaw and WallyWorld.

Guess I'm the only one who didn't like it.

The flashlight appears to be of the worthless type that harbor freight gives away for free. Very little light maybe 10 lumens if I'm correct.

I couldn't handle the knife but noticed no jimping/texture on the lock and overall just meh.

Pen is probably ok. I guess my major complaint is the possible tarnishing of the Kershaw name. If they wanted to do a 3-pack like this I wish it utilized higher end items so as to keep Kershaw where it belongs- a little bit above the comparable brands in quality. Holiday gift packs like this will introduce tons of new people to the brand and could have coerced a few new collectors if the included knife was of Blur/Needs Work quality and the LED were of UltraFire (cheap super bright Chinese) quality, yet only raising the price marginally.

Realistically though, the whole point is to make the package affordable for a small gift. If everything got upped in quality, there is no way Kershaw would sell as many. The difference between the knives is ~$8, and the flashlight, what, maybe a dollar or two? I don't see half as many selling at, say, $30. If someone gets 3 things for $20 and expects everything to be of the utmost quality, will they really be spending more on higher quality knives anyway?

Just my thought, I certainly understand your point though.

I'm just thinking of recruiting more knife nutjobs :D It was the quality of a Kershaw that first made me wonder if there is any reason to keep buying crappy knives and start appreciating high end stuff.

Ha! I just picked one up at my next closest (40 miles away) WM. The Brawler and the pen are both solid, but I have a feeling that the flashlight will end up in my truck or toolbox. Not complaining for $20. Overall, I would say I'm pleased.

I got one today, my WM had 4 boxes full. It's a good deal when you consider the Brawler usually goes for around $25 online. So you get $5 off the knife and the other stuff for free at the $20 price.

Wally world is to far for me since i have no car :(
one on the bay i'd have to pay 28.00 or 49.00 for it though

I discovered this at another WM with the knife gift sets

You lucky people I can't find this set at any of my local stores. They are all the gerber stuff :(.....

My wife had a bag -o- goodies for me when I got home!

My local WM had SOG Fasthawks--Kershaw Tac set-Gerber Ripstop II set--SOG Magnadot set-- and a Gerber knife/ small multi tool set.
