Just noticed them as "in stock" at one spot, and have talked to another online store that say's they will be receiving there's tomorrow or Thursday. I plan to have one in my grubby little hand in the next day or so!:eek::)

The only pictures I've seen though seem to be the ones that Thomas W. posted back in Feb. of a mockup version. Also not sure of the specs given as they seem to identical to the original Tyrade. Nontheless I've no doubt that this will be an awesome offering from Kershaw and will give Tyrade users/lovers the chance to put the 154CM/CPMD2 composition blade to really tough use and see just how well it performs, and all in a sub $100 street price knife!:thumbup::thumbup:

It is my understanding that the G-10 Tyrades will not have the same clip as the original, but rather one that is maybe smaller and also for top or bottom mount.

I'm really looking forward to getting this one!!
 
What is the difference between this and the current Tyrade? Is it just the handle material, G-10 vs. titanium w/ carbon fiber inlay?
 
If I remember this correctly, there were blades left over from the original Tyrade run that would not pass QC due to the look of the etch. Nothing wrong with either steel that makes up the blade, or the construction method, just the look of the dark CPMD2 steel against the lighter 154CM steel. It was either stonewash, beadblast, or junk the blades. Suppose to have the .080" thick hardened steel liners covered with black G-10 and also included is the speed-safe. Looks to be VERY promising!!:thumbup::thumbup::D
 
ok so i looked...everywhere says they are not in stock till june...what's the deal?....ohh and what the heck is up with the orange handled version?.....where did that come from.....i miss the kershaw forum:mad:.....ryan
 
The biggest difference is about $150...the G10 version is MUCH cheaper :)
 
j....i know that much:D....u got any info on where the orange version came from?....maybe one of the other kershaw experts will chime in if u don't know....i NEED one of these bad....ryan
 
So www.knifecenter shows in stock, but they are not. I personally talked with Knifeworks and he is expecting them either tomorrow or Thursday as they have been shipped from Kershaw.
 
ryan - are you asking me where to buy one? If so, I will have to look around a bit, but I think you should contact 2BKC here on the forums.

I know the black model has shipped and is in the hands of a few distributors...the orange was supposed to ship at the same time...and the tan version is a couple weeks out.

The first post has the breakdown of the three G10 Tyrades.

Orange ones were due to ship yesterday 5/4.

Just ordered a black G10 from Roger at Knifeworks.
According to his "New Arrivals" list, he got them yesterday. :thumbup:
 
ohh man decisions decisions...do i get a black one or hold out for the orange!....ryan
 
The biggest difference is the black is a liner lock and the original a solid Ti handled frame locker. That accounts for the huge difference in price.

Roger is who I ordered from also. From talking with him Monday, the knives had not yet arrived, that should be tomorrow or Thursday. I just could not help myself and went for overnight shipping so I am hoping to have one in hand by Friday! Thanks for the pics 2Brothers. Looks like the clip might be mounted a tad higher? Any provisions for a tip up carry?

My advice, buy now. There is only 150 in orange made so buy it now or pay what people will ask for on the sale forums. Check around, yourcornerstore.com has them on their site but out of stock, that's the only place I've found them. Don't necessarily look for the cheapest price because you don't want to miss getting one to save a potential $5.
 
man i cave easily...got a black one comin soon.....i decided on black cause i figure the orange might get dirty lookin over time...this on is gonna be my dedicated edc for a while....ryan
