Even though I have a genetic predisposition to always be "that guy"?and nobody is kicking you out Kyle!
I'm sure I drive Morrow, Dave, Jimmer and Thomas crazy on occasion... as well as everyone else at times.
Murray Carter did edit his video he put up on YouTtube though after I reported his asshattery and bad mouthing KAI during his presentation at the OKCA show and I like to think Wholesale Sports now carrying ZT is at least partly due to my constant badgering at 3 of their locations. I've been working on the guys at the Seattle Army Navy store as well.
Jimmer I think I'm driving crazy with questions on why particular design decisions are made and how particular things are done and understand not only the engineering but also the sales and marketing side such as costs associated with implementing specific features found in Tim Galyean's Pro models. I want to know how these decisions play in to adjusting features to be at a specific price point (can't they all be TiLTs!) and I'm really curious about how the patent and licensing plays in to all of this.
I'm also always trying to find an "in" to sit down and chat with Thomas. He's hooked me up with more than my fair share of knives, but he's a totally fun guy to chat with. Or, listen to anyway, as he is very passionate and loves to share his own thoughts on all kinds of things! Last time I was in there I asked a lot about how collaborations come about and how personality plays in to things in the very small world of knives. I asked because Thomas had posted something about Chris Reeve not much liking Thomas. I just never know what is appropriate to repeat and share and have probably let my enthusiasm get out of hand and posted things that Thomas would rather not have had me share.
Sarah [I also never know when to use real names, I won't use her last name] at KAI reception remembered who I was by my second time meeting her. I suppose the first time when Ii delivered a package for Thomas that seemed to be some sort of explosive tends to make a guy memorable. It could also be that as much of a loud mouth jack@$$ I am here, I'm quite the quiet nerd in person. I'm not your typical hipster tight jeans Portland nerd, but I'm still the shy boring guy that I'd guess is the type that many here would have picked on in high school if I wasn't a reasonably fit and athletic big guy [not so much now, just the "big" part] known for playing courteously on the ice but face pounding one of my own hockey team mates who teased me constantly as the only guy who wasn't on the team because it was a club sport and not subject to the academic requirements of public education funded sports. I've got the intellectual curiosity and social decorum of a 5 year old. I want to know everything, and will ask when I want to know something and it often doesn't occur to me that the timing or question may come off as being rude.
So I have a short life-time of experience being "that guy".. and I'd guess for being "that guy" with a reputation for long winded ranting off-topic, never succinct and often obtuse, posts like this one! I appreciate not being preemptively thrown out!
