Kershaw/ZT - Order of KAI - Updated as Things Develop

Not sure on any of this of course, depends on what every one wants. Two groups is a good idea, but I can see a benefit to having just one bigger one. Ideally Kershaw mods would head it up, maybe with some maintenance work on our part.

With some deeper thinking, having two groups would be difficult and would separate too much. One group would be easier to maintain and be more user friendly. What do you guys think?

Willing to do some maintenance as needed, just putting it out there. Yes, one group to welcome all. The Mafia decision on who to induct within those ranks will certainly be up to them, but the large group should be awesome!

Kershaw and ZT are defiantly my favorite knife brand. I wonder if the mafia gets first dibbs on all the new stuff...
 
I DEFINITELY need to start posting more! The first time I saw a Speed Safe knife, I knew I had to have one. I'm pretty sure that was a Chive. I liked a little bigger knife, so I got a half serrated Leek. My first one developed rust spots on the blade, so I returned it for another. I still have that & just replaced the torsion bar. I carried that knife almost every day for 6 years until I found a black one for a good price :)

I've only got 5 KAI knives now (2 ZT0301s & 3 Leeks), but plan on buying more as I can.

Crazy busy my friend, crazy. Ever since Pop passed away I've been swamped.
Been really trying to show up more often here to offer my opinons(aka facts). :)
 
For me, knives count and posting won't be a problem. Starting threads? I might have started one here...maybe. Signing up to be "that guy".
 
Hahaha, well I am following this closely and am willing to show my support. I do believe the group is going to have a crazy number of people wanting in. In order to keep it organized and well maintained I believe within the group there should be a few "officers" if you will. Individuals who have proven their knowledge and are well known and respected on the forums. These people could not only moniter members but act as a go between with normal members and kai reps. It would keep lynda and jimmer from being overwhelmed by every single member's requests. They are busy people who do a lot for us and we certainly don't want to become another bother to them. Of course the officers would need to take on the responsibility of communicating and organizing what is worth taking to them and what isn't.

If the mods dont want to, then we will need a few people to oversee membership acceptance and number assignment I would think.

If the Mafia will let in a few more lucky members.

This idea is going in the OP. We will have to figure out something for "officers" or as one member referred to it as the "congress." I like your idea or being a go between, or a Filter for Jimmer_5 and KershawLynda. Maybe if they see this they will like the idea even more. They are probably pretty busy and wouldnt want to have to keep this up too, so we would have to do the work, we want to make it beneficial to them, and in return it will benefit the group.

I think that we need to have something like a pecking order. The more well known and respected Kershaw lovers on here will be at the top (like kershawguy, BrentD86, bad_juju, BobSig, Morrow, etc. etc. etc.) then the lesser known kershaw lovers that still need to proof their worth will be towards the middle and bottom of the pecking order. Just my $0.02.

why thank you for considering me respected... I still think of myself as the new guy lol. In all seriousness I believe this is a good idea, there can be the "officers" or whatever they end up being called, senior members, members, and perhaps probationary members for new individuals who aren't really known yet. I think in the end a vote for the officers would be a great idea (maybe have anywhere from 5-10 of them) then they can discuss with each other about how exactly to work the rankings and qualifications for membership, etc... This way may take slightly longer to iron out all the bumps but I believe taking the extra time to think it out before launching the group will pay of greatly in the long run. Of course this is all assuming that things pan out and we get a shot at it.
