Kershaw/ZT - Order of KAI - Updated as Things Develop

This is exactly what I was trying to get around too. I couldn't think of how to say what I wanted to, but I didn't want to not say anything and end up forgetting what I was trying to say. IF I ever did make it into the group, then I'd probably be towards the bottom, but I'd just be honored to be in a group that has all of these well respected Kershaw "freaks". I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it. I look up to these guys.
 
Still waiting to hear from Jimmer and Kershaw Lynda. We will be able to figure out the "government" more once we know what they think. But 5 officers or so would work well probably, that many might not even be "needed" but would probably prove best.
 
Was thinking that in the large group. "Kai Monsters" Or what ever it will be, there can be a earnable titles in relation to ZT. I think it would ad some depth and fun to the whole set up. Opinions?

Also maybe get something together for infomation purposes on past LE models, prototypes, etc. There is a lot on info out there that you guys have, it would be good to have it available.
 
awesome idea bob, It is good to have several people on top anyway as they keep each other in check... and if someone isn't able to be online for a little while the others can step in to keep the group updated and what not. I believe you are right the first step is to see what lynda and jimmer say, without their support I would be weary as this forum is already an unofficial fan club and I believe some of us are striving for something more credible. If they do approve I think the next step would be selecting those individuals who have the knowledge, respect, and trust (as well as an interest in doing it) to be the "government". From there I believe we should leave it to whoever those people are to work out the rest of the details (with suggestions like the great ones we have been getting here). Earnable titles is something I agree with, I just threw those basic 4 ranks out earlier as a simplified example.
 
Heard from Jimmer today. There was no objections, but at the moment they are considering the other aspects and involvement.
 
This has probably been hashed through already, but just a thought.

It is apparently very hard to encompass the massive amount of thought, feeling and idea of both Kershaw and ZT into one group name.
"Kai something or other'' gets close but there's still something missing

If there is a way to have a group for ZT hoarders and a group for Kershaw collectors I think that would work smoother in the long run.
Some of us would indeed join both groups, but would definitely spend more time with one than the other.

I also understand how it would be easier to have just one group. Easier on the mods, on Kai and also the group leaders.

Would it be feasible to have a couple higher-ups(Kai reps) that could oversee separate groups that would be led by a few subordinates in the form of a dual headed congress?

That way the ZT people can froth at the mouth in our padded party room and the Kershaw people can wring our hands and pace the floor in ours.
And then the dual-partiers can pace back and forth between frothing at the mouth and wringing their hands in gleeful consternation.

I plan to join either way and pace the floor, froth at the mouth, and wring my hands all at once.
 
OP updated by Bob. Just read through it and I like the sub-group designations and names. Very cool. Bumping to the top so others can check it out and chime in as well.
 
I may have missed it in all of the hustle and bustle.. but where would the "Shun" people belong? ;-)

They would be in with the kai group. Thats why we settled on a kai based name as to not alienate anyone. I bet if they ask real nice like we could figure up a shun based side to add on. I guess we just have not recieved any interest yet for shun, but we would be more than happy to have them join in on the fun under our kai group!
 
I'm prospecting some Shuns myself actually, likely for the holidays. Yummy...damascus kitchen cutlery. I think that for the group, I'd like the title of Grand Poobah MacDaddy. :D

lol.. My chick-a-dee friend was watching as I made quick and deft preparation of a yellowfin tuna using one of my Shun knives. She says, "Wow.. the force is strong with your pretty lil' fancy knifey."
So I told her, "I am The Shidoshi of Shun-jutsu!"
Then.. in her most endearing (and most sarcastic) deadpan.. she tells me, "That's racist." Bwahahaha. Sheesh. What a PC Nazi. I'm nowhere close to being any sort of PC.

That Shidoshi of Shun-jutsu thing is as close to any kind of title suggestion I can come up with tonight. I may have more when the sun comes up once again, but that would really irritate her if she ever saw it as a title :)
 
Question about the points system, it states that you get 1 point for a paid membership (I'm assuming Basic Membership), and 2 for a Gold. What about us Platinum, Orange, and Green folk?
