At least this has been entertaining. Yes, I have spoken to Kevin before and found him to be a stand up guy. He even offered to help me out when I got screwed by a former "dealer" of Mad Dogs. I do not, however, kiss his or anyone else's ass. Maybe things could have been handled differently, but there was no reason to post what you did. What is the reason to say that Kevin had his ass kicked when he was in school? This sounds like some of the drunks that I have arrested before. After they get the handcuffs on, then they make statements like this. FWIW.

chad im not a "tough guy"but im not like you either a pathetic , self -confessed "wimp"
You are absolutley right, do you feel like a real man now, does making fun of other people make you feel better about yourself?
Are you flexing your huge muscles as you type so bravely into the computer, giving me a real mean look?
Do you really feel like you acted like a man, running your mouth?

i certainly do not fear kevin and would be happy to tell this to his face he has disrespected me so there it is
RLOTF, yeah right. That was a good one. You don't have the courage to call him on the phone, you have to hide behind your keyboard.

Obviously,When the knife was gotten by jauxerman he had no idea of the history.I can see Maddog being sour about that knife, but it is an issue with the person it was on approval with.I think it is wrong to make statements that it is stolen property and tell people not to buy the knife and injure jauxermans ability to sell the knife, when he too is a victim in this.THis is an issue for small claims court between Maddog and the dealer. If he does not want to go that route he should let the issue rest.

Gentlemen, I don't care which side of this issue you take but I would like to see a strong effort towards civility.

Posting insults back and forth serves nothing and if it continues I will prove what a tough guy I am by flexing the massive muscles in my highly trained index finger and locking this thread.

After reading all that unpunctuated drivel, I have come to the conclusion that Jax has gone way out of his way to use this forum to tell us what he thinks of Mad Dog. Not exactly proper use of this forum, if you ask me.

You know what would really be a ripoff? If somebody was a dealer and decided to list all of his knives for free in the For Sale forum, therefore ripping off the owner of this website. Now THAT would be thievery.

It's a Maddog thread, and as we all know, all Maddog threads are subject to self combustion. :)

So grab a bag of popcorn and standby. This might be better than the hidden tang notch free-for-all. Now when you buy a Mad Dog knife, not only might you discover via x-ray that it is a defective with a poor heat treat, but you might also be told 6 years later that the knife is stolen property. It's kind of strange that other knife makers seem to have managed to avoid all of these problems. Perhaps it's some kind of plague?

n2s:rolleyes:

If Spark felt Jack was a non-paying dealer he has had ample opportunity to take action.Since he hasn't that leads me to believe Jack must not be a dealer.I suggest the mere fact, someone has alot of knives to sell and trade does not automatically make them a dealer.Spark doesn't seem to be concerned, so why keep harassing the man?If this guy has $5,000.00 dollar rare Maddog knives,it is quite conceivable he can have a high turnover of knives for his hobby. His punctuation may suck, but so does mine, and this doesn't make him a bad person nor his complaint invalid. His ability to sell the knife has been sabotaged due to no fault of his own and is concerned about his integrity being called into question because someone is yelling thievery.I would be upset about the implications too,if it was my name being soiled."Drivel"? I don't know if I would call losing hundreds of dollars or whatever this particular model he has is worth "drivel" If you bought or traded for an item in good faith and suddenly it is worth crap and no one will buy it because it is "stolen" I would say most of us would be a little upset.I can agree Jack's post is worded very strongly, maybe it should have not been written in an emotional state, but I can see why he was upset.I'm sorry Maddog was ripped of by a dealer in the past, but he really should not have dragged Jack into the situation. If you ask me it is unprofessional,if he knows who the dealer thief is,then that is who should be dealt with, instead of screwing over a customer.Talk about a bad business practice.Sometimes I don't know about you guy's

Gentlebeings ... is there any chance some more facts could come out, or is this thread going to be nothing but opinion?

This forum has traditionally been available to anyone who wants to display his character whether he has any information to contribute or not ... but not endlessly....

By the way, the assumption that the administration here is not concerned about whether a dealer might be using the exchange forums without paying for it is just that -- an assumption. On the other hand, the idea that selling a lot of knives does not make one a dealer could have some validity to it ... since we still haven't come up with a clear definition of what a dealer is, I suppose it's possible that selling a lot of knives might have nothing to do with it....

My point is, if Spark isn't raising the question and hasn't confronted the gentleman, then it is not a forums members business to badmouth and harass him making wild accusations he is a dealer.I don't have proof he is or isn't,but I think at this point everyone needs to stand down on that subject and let the sites owner deal with that situation. What has been stated thus far in the associated threads has enough information for someone to draw their own conclusions, making the continuation of this probably fruitless.

I really tried hard not posting in this thread.
Cougar, just some facts as I know them about the comments made in the original post about the navy knives. I myself was guilty of spreading this false info around for some time, I even had the heads of a production company email me with names of Navy people who saw Kevin at a show.
Here's the facts about this as I know them. Yes, Mad Dog knives won a contract with the navy to supply knives to the SEALs when his knife won a competition. Yes, that is very prestigious and shows you the quality of his work. Kevin has a wife and children, you cannot feed them with prestige, and as we know, most makers are not rich. He delivered some of the knives to the Navy. As they are notorious for, alot of time went by without a payment from the Navy. Kevin needed to feed his family as social services frowns when your kids become skeletons due to lack of food. So he sold some knives. Who broke the contract? Kevin who didn't deliver the balance of the knives because he hadn't been paid for the batches of knives already delivered and needed the money to support his family? Or the Navy who took delivery and didnt make any payments in a reasonable amount of time?He did what he had to do to support his family. Period.

Here's another fact. A few of us questioned Spark in chat awhile ago about jaxurman and another individual being dealers. Spark stated that he had spoken to both and was satisfied with their answers and explanations that they weren't dealers.

Dave

[Edit - got my names confused.]

If anyone has any direct information about Jaxurman being a dealer, please forward it to me ASAP so I can take action.

Kevin

Most dealers that are posing as individuals here are easly spotted because they have common production items and they sell them for close to retail. Jaxurman isn't one of these unless a dealer is willing to LOSE money in a deal. I've seen him drop a full $90 off the price of something to sell it, a dealer wouldn't do that. Most dealers also wouldn't accept trades.

Would someone in Admin please step up and stop this insane arguement. It reflects very badly on your whole operation!!!! Mike

knifeman7,

As is wont to happen when Kevin McClung's name is mentioned in a thread, things got a bit heated for awhile. With one request from myself the thread returned to civility, (Thanks everyone! :D) and some valuable information has come to light (via Dave, "Lifter4Him") that might not have if the thread had been locked.

Sometimes it's best to let things ride for awhile and work themselves out. I don't see how that "reflects badly" on BFC. If you've read the whole thread, you'll notice that it has, by the time of your post, become a non-issue.

knifeman7,

I am beginning to wonder if you are hearing voices or something. :)

What's "still going on", and what's so "insane" about this thread?

n2s

BTW, Welcome to the forums

...N2S,

I think you're just jealous because someone other than you, me, lifter, spark, Jack, and Kevin hears the voices too... :p
