Killa Zilla III - Who wants it?

Barong and bowie.cuz I consider kopis and falcata to be In the same catergory as a kukuri...

I would love to see more photoshopped Busse fantasies...What would a Busse falcata look like? nerv102's Busse barong fantasy might be interesting to see too. Is there a topic for photoshopped Busse fantasy blades? If not, can someone create one and post a link to it here?

I think the photoshop threads are frowned upon as they tend to get a life of their own and go from fantasy on this forum to FACT on another.....

I have had the TTKZ, the KZII and a custom Nuclear TTKZ which is different in that it is flat ground and not convex and is thinner and lighter -

For a wilderness tool it is just about "perfect" - works as well as an axe and more versatile - the original TTKZ handle is the best for chopping and choking up for fine work.

A shorter replica of this blade with a Basic tang and the same shape Res C handle as the outline of the TTKZ handle and you would have a well balanced lighter Zilla for easier carry. If the blade forward weight ratio remains the same then the chopping power is likely to remain the same. That would be my choice for the next incarnation in the Zilla line.

PeterPHWS, I'd like to hear your point of view on why you prefer the different features of yours versus the standard TTKZ. Being a very expensive custom blade, I assume you carefully considered every aspect of your ideal blade before placing your order.

imma be honest with you guys. i got sick of all the talk and i email lexi and garth and ordered a custom ttkz. hahaha i've got to have a zilla!

My landing this Nuclear TTKZ was solely down to a great Hog AZTim who agreed to act as a proxy for me at a show. We knew some custom Zilla's were in the offing due to pre show photo's and Tim said he would e-mail me details of which blades were available. He landed a unique custom Zilla which had the Nuclear spine divided into two parts which were split by an area of spine you could use to baton the blade without damaging the baton. Having handled them all he indicated which one was the lightest as he knew I was a fan of the Basic series of knives and liked light knives with great performance.

When I saw his pic's of the blade I knew this one was ideal for me. The double cut blade avoids glare issues for military use and the flat grind meant that the thickness of the blade behind the edge was slim compared to some of the meatier fully convex Nuclear TTKZ's which were also available.

The lighter weight was the main thing I wanted.

I already had a TTKZ which I had re-profiled to give a thinner fully convex profile ( the early TTKZ's were a bit too meaty behind the edge and this prevented depth on cuts when chopping ) and knew the performance of this thinner Nuclear TTKZ would be excellent.

So that is how I came to own it.

All thanks to the great Hog camaraderie you find on this forum and the ability to jump on an opportunity when it presented itself.

Pics, or it didn't happen! How expensive was it? What features did you decide on? I might have to do the same thing next time I get a lucky windfall of cash that's burning a hole in my pocket. How do you go about ordering one custom?

I heard that 2014 will be the year of the Killa Bombazilla and the Skinny Thrilla Zilla.

I'd also be happy with a light brigade version of the TTKZ, or multiple sizes of that basic setup.... Blade shape can change as long as the handle stays the same :)

I've decided I prefer the blade shape of the original KZTT, but I think I agree with you, I'd like to see a whole line of these in different sizes and varieties. I'd like one that's light weight, but still the same size as the original KZTT, and I'd like to see some bigger ones that are falcata/kopis sized. If we also got one that was under 10 inches, then I might need to buy 3 new kukris:

1. KZTT, thinned blade, lightened tang.
2. KZTT Falcata, 20+ inches!
3. KZTT EDC, less than 10 inches. 7 inches would probably be ideal, but multiple KZTT-style blades in several smaller sizes would be even better...but I think I'd be committing financial suicide if I tried to buy all of them.

double cut blade finish.
thin convex grind.
olive drab hand shaped g10 with royal blue liners.
fushion pommel and double talon hole.

i'm fully aware that this post is a vicious lie until i post pictures! but, today, lexi said it will be a few more weeks...so as for now my nose is growing rapidly!

I dream of a double cut KZ with coyote/black G10. Blade of the TTKZ pretty please.

I want it ALL at this point... Feel like I'm on some wicked-crazy Busse binge right now; geez I hope they don't find me passed out in my undies next to a NARK, with a maxed-out credit card in one hand, a mouse in the other and INFI-dust residue still on my nose! ...Awkward.
