Thanks guys.

OK, things are getting exciting. I polished up some things and now we are ready to assemble the knife for the last time.

I tinted the epoxy with a little blue. I think it will look nice with a thin wash of it over the file-worked spacers. I also greased the the threads so that I can cut the tang to finish length and seat the nut after the epoxy hardens.

Epoxy is running out all over the place, that's OK, I will clean it up with some acetone afterward.

The butt cap is in place. I'll tighten up the nut and let the epoxy harden.

Here's a shot after cleaning off all the extra epoxy.

The other side. Tonight I should be able to give it a hand rubbed polish and set the inlays and it's done.

The final reveal tomorrow.

YAY! Finally the final reveal! :D ;) Man, this has been quite an amazing project, thread included! I've been following since the start and it's been incredible to watch your methods of madness ;) You're deffinitely one of the (if not "thee") most creative knifemakers I've had the pleasure to watch in a WIP. And I'm not only talking about the knife and materials used, which are insanely creative in and of themselves, but also in the problem solving, the jigs, the tools & etc you've made in order to make and/or work on the parts for this knife.. some of which were head slappers lol Thanks a bunch man for taking the time to allow us to tag along with you in watching this "saga" come to life, it's been fun! :)

Awesome Knife.
That Handle is Insane.

Mark its absolutely beautiful. I am glad I am going to the show so I can see it in person. Thanks Pat and Terry

Thanks everybody, I hope it's not a disappointment, like good previews to a bad movie.

Are you really going to the show Terry? It would be really good to see you there.

Final pictures later today if everything goes right. My pictures may not do it justice but we'll get "real" pictures after the sheath is done.

Amazing work, Mr. Knapp! Your build-alongs/WIPs are (along with some others) the reason that I can't stay away from this forum. Once again, awe inspiring and unparalleled work.

Mark,

I think this is so cool that I am coming all the way from CT to see it........

well, OK, I was already planning on coming to the show....but will make it a particular point to come by and say Hi, check out this amazing piece and thank you for all you've done on the fossil ivory issue :thumbup:

That's what I thought, we will have to see you some time when we visit Minn. Maybe deliver it in person.

So close. You know how to build suspense, Mark. The good news for me is I'll get to see it in Seattle!

OK, I got it hand polished to 4000 grit. I will go to 8000, but here's some pictures. Hope you like them. After the Seattle show i'll make the sheath and send it off to Coop for pictures.

Thanks to everyone for following along and the kind comments.

Mark you're a true craftsman and it shows in your work. Aside from being blown away by this piece I also want to say thanks for sharing how you did it. Truly inspires myself and I'm sure many others who have high hopes of someday making something half this good!
