Here's some pics of the knife Rusty sent to me along with the info he provided about the knife:

-Bullet Pattern slipjoint

-CPM 154 CM steel

-Spalted Maple scales

-410 SS Liner & Bolster

It came in a nice little zippered padded case along with his business card. I'm psyched to have my first handmade folding knife, and I can't wait to put it to use.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the KITH; it was a lot of fun and I look forward to next year. Merry Christmas!

Sorry to hear about your nose. But it begs the question - how did you manage that?

I'm fully aware that the knife receiving portion of this event was not a contest. Regardless. I WIN!

Redrumm This knife is incredible! It's absolutely mesmerizing. My first real/surreal traditional slippy, and I love it. I used it to open most of my gifts.

Can you tell me a little more about it? How does Dinosaur bone end up looking like this? I'm also curious as to what kind of steels the blades are made from.

Oh I'm really blown away with this little pretty sgian dubh. Justin also sent me a magnificent pen that he turned. What a happy person I am... The sheath is his first and the blade is his second damascus. I loved the impressive embossing on the sheath. The case is lovely also. Thanks a lot Justin, you made my day :thumbup:

OK, I want to play, I came in way late on this thing. I am assuming KITH is Knife In The Hand. Sign me up. Do we have to wait till next year. Mark

Stacy, thanks for managing this years activity, I guess my mail didn't arrive to the recipient. I'm so sorry, 15 days ago it is loaded to airplane according to tracking system, it should be in the USA but I'm afraid it will be late....

Emre,
I already sent him a note telling him that Santa had a very long trip with his package, and it should be there in a few days. I'll keep on top of it for you.

Glad that you got it in time. Hope you enjoy it.

Munkey 88 - The Dinosaur bone is fully agatized real bone from the Jurrasic period - 140 to 220 million years ago. Utah and Colorado were basically part of a huge inland sea with rivers and lakes in a tropical jungle. Bone that was covered in floods or in any other manner was eventually covered in volcanic events and the bone was replaced by agate and other minerals that cause the colors at the molecular level exactly the way wood is in petrified wood. Geological events in the past 200 million years has pushed this area up over 8000 feet and the stone bones and wood are again near the surface or on it.

The Damascus is by the raindrop pattern done by Devin Thomas for Case knives.

Email me at redrummd@comcast.net if you want my file photos of the knife. I keep a record of up to 6 photos of each knife I make.

Y'know.... That's something that I need to start doing... badly. I realized with the photos that Emre took of my KITH knife... that the single one that I had posted in the KITH photo thread was the only photo of the knife that I had taken before I shipped it out. And i've done that with most of my blades. Just one or two bad photos of the finished product and nothing else.

Justin no problem, when you finish a knife just send to me. I'll be glad to keep the knife and send the photos to you :p
