KITH, WOO-HOO, my knife arrived

Thats funny that you can wait. Mine isnt here yet I dont know if I could wait. I would have to look online in the pictures at least lol

There was two boxes in front of my door this morning :) 1 from a firm a TC and a controller and 1 from Justin Mercier, I'm grinning since those arrived, marry Christmas friends. I'll open this box on Christmas, I hope I can wait for 2 days :D

Thanks a million Justin, my cat Empathy sniffed the box for a minute, I guess there was a letter on it written in cat language.. ;)

I hope mine will arrive in time ...

No, guys, I did not rig the draw. It was done by one of the gals at work, and she wouldn't know Bruce Bump from Natty Bumppo.
I made out two mailing lists, putting one out on envelopes, and cutting the other up into individual slips. The slips were drawn and put into envelopes, with the only examination being to assure that the names weren't the same. Then she made a list of who was matched to who, and put it in my envelope, along with my slip ( Nathan Burgess).I waited five days after mailing the envelopes to make up a spread sheet to keep track of the KITH, and that was when I saw who I was getting a knife from. It has been a very nervous wait for this package.
Thanks again Bruce.

The KITH has run well, and my records show that there are five knives still to arrive. All have been mailed.
I really believe that this was the way to run a KITH. Only completed knives are entered, and the provenance is in the photos. Emails to the folks who were interested to keep them on track, and emails to check on any status questions as to shipping and receipt make the record keeping easy.

It has been a pleasure to do this, and I would be happy to do it again next year.
Stacy

I'm thrilled you like the hunter Stacy.
I think this was a smooth KITH exchange and look forward to it next year if Stacy will do it again. It brings some of the old Christmas Spirit of giving back that seems to be lacking from buying gifts. I love a handmade gift and knives for Christmas are the best kind of gift. It really helps us all know each other and appreciate each other as people. Many of us have frequented this forum for many years but have never met. This was a blessing in both giving and recieving from my friends.
Thanks Stacy and Merry Christmas to all.

Dang, I've been last ever since kickball in gradeschool. :p
No, just kidding. I haven't gone through the list to figure what's been received and what hasn't, but I can think of at least one pretty stunning knife off the top of my head that nobody's claimed to have received yet. We'll see. Maybe it'll arrive tomorrow and spare me the decision whether to open before Christmas or not. :D

I got a WHICKED sharp D2 kinfe from Nathan the Machinist and I am very happy with it!

It is made very well and it looks fine!

Um, I've been playing with it so long that I've managed to cut myself in my nose :D

I already have an idea for a KITH 2010 knife if there will be an other KITH.
I've enjoyed making something for somebody else and as a bonus I got a beauty in return!
My compliments for Stacy for running all this so smooth!

SHEWWWWWW!!!!!! I'm glad it made it. I've shipped to Canada before and haven't had any issues, but I have to say I was getting a little concerned that it wasn't going to get there before Christmas. GLAD it made it! Glad you like it. And hellgap..........love the name of your town! Merry Christmas!

If you can find the book by Bob Terzuola on tactical folders, you will have a good guide to making a liner lock.

Here are a few pics of my knife from Kelly-love it!!Sorry Kelly misspelled your last name should be WIENS
Why no makers mark?

Phew! I'm glad it reached you for Christmas, when I got your name in the mail from, my foremost worry was if it would make it to Turkey in time. Thank you for posting that it arrived, now I can rest easy tonight =)

This has been a fantastic KITH and should be held up as the perfect example of how something like this should be run in the future for any swap on any forum for any craft!

Beautiful cat, by the way. Is it a norwegian forest cat? It looks very similar to a Maine Coon cat, and norwegian forest cats are more or less the european equivalent.

There is one maker who was the victim of severe flooding. His knife sheath was ruined ( but the knife is fine). It will post out early next week.
I have contacted the folks who are still waiting and will keep on top of the status. I know that two are on the way and will probably be there tomorrow. I am waiting to hear back on the status of the other one.
JT is out of town, and his knife may be waiting at the PO for him to pick up when he gets back home.

Anyone who has received a knife and not posted or emailed me, let me know.

Mine arrived in today's mail!!! I was starting to think I wouldn't get it until after Christmas, but it's here now and I can stop checking the mail 3 times a day.

I got my first ever handmade folder, a Bullet Pattern slipjoint from Rusty McDonald. I will post some pics tomorrow when (if) the sun comes out.

Thanks Rusty for the sweet Christmas present, and thanks again Stacy for coordinating the KITH!
